$400 for a 30k checkup...

Is $400 the going rate for 30k checkups? I just called two dealerships and go that estimate.

uhh no, I paid 150 something...

I had the dealer and take out the stuff I didn't need, or the stuff they wanted to much for (the air filter replacement charge was outrageous).

If you need everything on the list, then yeah its gonna cost that much, but I'm sure you can get them to knock off a couple hundred bucks.

Two big items you can save money on 30K maintance, tell you dealer to skip the following:

- Coolant flush (can wait till 45K according to manual) $50
- Brake fluid ($40-50?) can wait till 45K mile

Also, I would do air-filter replacement myself ( save like $20 ).

So you can save like 100, which still make your bill like $300.

I think $300 is worth it, I skiped all the check ups, and will only do major ones at 30, 60, 90 ....

Do what Mantis did...don't have them do anything you don't need...I think there is a check list for the 30K

you were raped. there is no necessary service at 15k. i do my own oil changes etc. so no use for the 30k either.

I paid $141.00 for 30K. But I'm sure somebody will advise "You get what you pay for.". I say, bend over cause you're being "*&@$(*@&".. YMMV
