I wonder if this mod really costs $299, I mean for some of these mods, you think the material and cost to make would be less than $50.

Rule of Thumb is 5 times "base cost".

Don't forget CARB city...

I know this was posted a long time ago, but like Bnut said if the gains are even half that for the J30a, I'd buy it as soon as I had the 299. Hurry up with that patent thing. If you're waiting on a patent, then would that be patent pending? Oh well I'll shut up before syncivic denies my right to let me buy his super mod.

Do we have a mass air flow sensor or some variation of that? That would be a mod that could be changed out fast and for $299 it seems about right. And it has the ability to add HP and torque.

Any experts out there that can shed some light?

(P.S. Sorry if it has been discussed earlier i this thread.. I didn't want to go through 12 pages of crap posts.. call me lazy if you have to )

We don't have a air mass sensor. Our system checks the vacuum/pressure in the manifold and also takes the air temp to "infer" the correct amount of fuel to inject. (Throttle angle, tables, and other data complete the system. It is not as "clean" as a mass-flow system, but generally has a faster response. Note: there are exceptions to "all of this" and I'm speaking in generalities.)

Useful link for MAP/MAT sensor: http://www.delphiauto.com/pdf/intell...at_sensors.pdf

Another link with "some" info: http://www.sts.sae.org/membersonly/t...s/article5.htm

You can get it from Tim (Snook) when it is released -- www.autocarparts.com.

BTW -- when it is released, there will probably be 200+ different posts with questions and answers -- don't worry...

What's your problem, if there's interest let people discuss. If you don't like it, don't read it.

Say what you will about the topics posted on acura-tl.com, but it's funny as hell that, here, inane 50 page postwhore threads survive while threads about a real mod that adds real power for not much money are considered "out of hand" and are candidates for getting locked.

Will it be warranty friendly, or is it a rediculous fuel additive or something.

I'm going to leave it open a little longer because there are some newer people posting some questions (assuming the other mods agree). If the questions start getting very repetative or stupid, I will close it (but not delete it so it can still be read).....
