$217,000 speeding ticket
Note to self....don't speed in Finland. Dude was doing 50 in a 25, but fines are based on your income.

Rich or poor , you will get hit for the same percentage of income so someone who is rich isn't as likely to just brush it of since he knows he will get hit for a larger ammount of cash, plus if he is that rich he probably hire a lawyer(and pay him a large sum of money) to lower the fine. I know that if speeding tickets were income based here in the states I would be less likely to speed.

No those things don't make sense but the fine system does. If you think about a millionaire doesn't really care if he get a 400 ticket but a low income person does. The millionaire will go on breaking the law and never think about the consequences. If you fine them thousands of dollars then they might take the law seriously.

Yeah while we're at it, why not change the whole system to be income base. My toll on the parkway would be $1 and that big guy in the mercedes, he should pay $25 to drive on the same road. When I go see Lord of the Rings, I should pay $9 and he should by $89. Why stop there? Super Unleaded, $1,79, the millionaire should pay $11,99 per gallon at the pump.

Guys, I shit you not. I actually saw this in car and driver when they had an article about police enforcement around the world.
In Finland, some of the police cars have hardened steel probes attached to the front of the car. The area is reinforced. The probe is hollow.
If you try to flee the law, they call in one of these special cruisers in. The intent is to ram the perps car, and, get this, Inject massive amounts of tear gas into the car interior.
Hey, at least they are not using nerve gas or sarin!

I drive 100+ mph on the 55mph freeway almost every week (I don't take the law seriously) and last I checked, my checking account was a few dollars short of the million mark.

Say in Germany and France you hardly notice any traffic cops. However, if you speed excessively, cameras will photo your license plate and will send you a "nice" ticket by mail which vary from $200-$800 and its not based on your income of course. If you rent a car where 99% are MT (love it) they'll get you through your credit card when you back home.
Maybe I was lucky when I drove last year the rental 330i around 190km/h from Paris to Nice and never got a ticket. And I checked my CC afterward as well - nothing.
And girls there are but thats another subject.
We should be happy here, since gas, fines and tolls are more expensive in Europe.

the US charging according to one's income.. wow.. that'll be the day.
rappers will be getting 400,000 speeding tickets in their ferrari's... but to tell the truth, if that happened to them, i wouldn't feel sorry for them at all.
