$18,000 for a CLS-6

I love my 2002 CLS but I like looking around for a clean, low mile yet well priced 6-speed.

I'm 1 for 2.

Not worth it. $18,000 for a 3.2CL type S is ridiculous. I've seen them for sale at $9000 or less.

With 18K miles that car should last a long time. I would not pay more than $14K for it. And even that is high for a CLS, but if you really like the CLS and want one you plan to keep for a long time this would be the one to buy.

Doesn't matter how long you plan on keeping it, that price is absurd. Financially, that is just a terrible buy.

yea that car is simply not worth that at all.

if it had a beautiful brand new s/c on it working perfectly... then I may be swayed to change my opinion. but i's still haggle on price

Too bad it doesn't have black leather instead.

Crazy.. slightly less than what I paid 8 years ago, and even then I didn't get a 'great' deal by any stretch.

not to mention, good luck finding a bank who will loan almost 200% of FMV (fair market value) for the car. You're lucky to find banks who go above 100% of FMV on a car loan and if they do, it is maybe 5-10% extra to cover tax, title and license, but 200%...good luck! Any prospective buyers need to be cash buyers or are prepared to drop $5K+ for a down payment to even get it financed.

I don't care enough to, but someone should contact their sales department and ask them how in the world they expect anyone to get financed for this car.

Low miles makes it tempting I know, but anything above $12k is just insane. Even $12K is crazy, but I'll toss in 2-3K for such low mileage.

It'll be a cash buyer.

It's just like CRX's that are in mint condition selling for $10,000

I wouldn't pay more than $8k. Doesn't matter if it has 0 miles on it, it's still a 10 year old car. It'll need the timing belt done if it hasn't been already. Lots of seals can start to crack over time especially in vehicles that aren't driven much like this one. Fluids sitting in the engine for years without much use can lead to other headaches too. In many cases a rarely used car can be more problems than a well used one.

It's been for sale for awhile now. I guess the seller can't get a clue that the car is not worth that even with the extremely low mileage.

Just had a look at Kelly Blue Book USA. Never used it before so I don't know reliable or accurate the site is but holy crap.

$14,115 dealer retail. $12,290 private party.

Yeah most standard lenders won't do it but dealers have access to non standad finance companies that will take that kind of loan if the person fits into what their looking for credit wise. I have seen more bad car deals than I care to here in Socal.

Buyer will sheet himself with the value drop once he drives it off the lot.

I just paid off the CL , and I'm realizing I paid 3x more than it's worth . But I'm ready to take the hit and move on , never buy from a large dealership again .

Just noticed who the actual dealer is. I looked at a few cars there over the years and never knew their pricing to be too far out of line. Not sure what the reasoning is for this particular car.

Not to brag but I just picked up a 2003 CL Type S 6-speed for $5600 with 186,000 miles on it. While that's not low mileage its not terrible either.

Decent price but it is high mileage. More than the average American drives a year so it would be considered high mileage with an average of 18,600 mi/yr. Price seems fair as long as it's in good condition everywhere else and the engine has been well taken care of with all schedule maintenance done.
