Energy Suspension products are also available at PepBoys or RS Strauss auto parts stores and their websites... I think PepBoys gives free shipping too...

My ES poly bushings (part# 95126G, same as JTso) just arrived. I'm holding off installing my Comptech RSB until a few weeks after my Tein SS (planned for this weekend) because I don't want to install it all at once. I have some pics to compare the bushing/bracket of Comptech vs ES.

DEFINITELY closer in size than mine. I still want to try to make mine work for the fact of MAKING it work, but I'm awfully tempted now to buy the 95126Gs.

Mine is 95158G... Bought it from the link provided from old post... guess i'll wait till the front bushings also gets released and order both front and rear sway bar bushings...

someone should correct the old thread since people follow the link provided and ends up with wrong part...

just ordered correct rear bushings... front ones will be shipped on 12/01 and it's very far away so decided to order rear one right now...

guess i'll have to install this one by myself.. was too lazy to jack up the car so took it to shop to do it for me, but spent too much on rear sway bar i think...
120 for comptech sway + 30 to install + 20ish for es bushings + 30 to install es bushings + another 26 for correct bushings... whew~ too much money...

You may be right, but I'm giving it one last shot. With only a 1/4" difference, its close.

good move that's how you're supposed to do them to realize the changes you're modding to the car.

are you all replacing the bushings b/c of wear or noise??

As far as I know, we're all replacing them b/c we want the stiffer poly. I know some replaced the Comptech ones as a possible solution to noise, but I think most ppl have seen noise b/c the either the end links broke, the exhaust clearence wasn't enough, or the bushings needed to be tighted done. Poly bushings perform better w/out a doubt.

Yep, I'm holding off on installing the RSB for exactly that purpose. I've been riding around stock since I got the car a little over a month ago. I'm really excited to see how the Tein SS affects ride quality and handling, especially since I never modded a car before and was never even in a car that's been lowered or had any kind of performance suspension.

I'll just let the comptech RSB sit on my living room floor for a couple weeks while I get used to the Teins. I should probably put it in a closet or something because I'm constantly tempted to just install it already.

I decided to get the poly bushings because it seemed like many people here were thoroughly satisfied with their performance. Plus, the comtech bushings look chewed up and flimsy or something (that one in the pic is brand new and has never been installed), so I figured I might as well get them installed from the start if they're that good.

My comptech bushings are fine. No clearence, noise, or wear problems after 6 months. I suspect the problems you hear about are more exception than the rule.

Can one really feel the difference with the poly bushing vs. the comptech bushing?

I would guess that new bushings vs poly would be difficult to tell, but over time as the rubber bushings wear in, I bet the difference would be noticeable. My Comptech bushings right now are fine as well, but they aren't even a week old.

No but I can hear the difference, or rather, not hear the difference. Ever since I switched to the polys, no more clinking and clanking.

Did you see the thread where I posted pics of the Comptech bushings after I took them off? The insides were all squished outwards. Dont know if its because of how I drive or just the fact that the rubbers are no good...

I just placed an order for 95126G. Hopefully that will get rid of my thump. I saw that Energy Suspensions also sell Poly bushings for the end links. I wonder if replacing the stock end link bushings would be worthwhile.

TSX endlinks don't use bushings.

Link? There arent any bushings on the endlinks. Unless they have a replacement for the entire endlink...

You guys are right. You'd have to replace the whole endlink, which they don't sell.

Well, I got the ENS 9.5158G poly and greaseable bushings to work doing what JTso said to do... of course, he is like 99.99% right whenever he gives advice.

Here is what I did:

1. Shaved 1/8" in on the slots where the bolts go on each side
2. Shaved the washers in a D like pattern.

Here are the photos of what they look like on my Comptech bar:

Just replaced mine to 95126G from 95158G and when I was taking off the bushings, the brackets were squeezed but not much to alter the form of poly bushings. It would've been fine with 95158G with squeezed brackets. But since the new bushings came, I just installed it on curiosity.

Ordered 95126G from Summit and they sent Summit Hat, Decals, Deordorant, and $20 gift certificate code to use it on next purchase!! They say it's a special limited time offer. Guess I'll order front bushings with this $20.

By the way, this was the first time for me replacing bushings by myself and was wondering if the sway bars need to be aligned properly? They were moving back and forth and bushings brackets are also adjustable so was wondering if the rsb needs to be aligned for proper balance.

No need to align the swaybar. It will self-aligned when You make a few turns.

I tried reading most of this thread and am now confused... LOL... no surprise there.

Anyhow, I am looking to buy the Progress RSB and want to know what exact other products I NEED to buy, and what I "could" buy. ie: Will the poly bushings that come w/ the Progress bar be all I need to install this, or are there other optional things I could buy to make things better, tighter, etc...?

Thanks!
Eric

PS: Are there any recommendations for if I went with the Comptech bar over the Progress one? Shipped to Canada, they're both around the same price, so it's an "either-or" situation here.

Yes, they usually come with the ES poly bushings or you can buy them from Summit Racing. It's call Formula 5 Prelube.

Actually the decision is simple... what kind of Exhaust do you have?

If you have the Comptech or OEM Exhaust then you can get either. If you have any other exhaust, then you should get the Progress.

Progress has adjustability too, but I personally saw no need; meaning there are multiple hole that you can use at the end link connection making it stiffer or softer.

I have stock exhaust but some day down the road might invest in a new exhaust. I just saw it as "they're both nearly the same price, so adjustability and possible compatibility for future plans" leaned me towards the Progress bar.

BTW: Using a calculation found here (http://www.teamscr.com/sway.htm), the difference in torsional rigidity between my stock 15mm bar, and a 22mm Progress or Comptech bar, is:

(22 ** 4) / (15 ** 4) = 4.62727901 = 462 %

It seems pretty extreme, although I'd assume 15mm is just simply too thin for this car, so the 22 is only a few mm (say 3?) higher than the optimal factory spec, which should be closer to 19mm to be a more balanced car.

Any idea if the Progress @ stiff setting is stiffer than the Comptech? OR, conversely, the Progress at SOFT setting softer than the Comptech?

Thanks all!

Also, what other things do I need w/ the bar -- the Progress comes with poly bushings. Do BOTH need upgraded endlinks, or are the stock 2004 OEM endlinks fine?

I recall seeing a TSB or something like that regarding endlinks for the 2004's... I could be wrong though.

There is a service bulletin for the 04 tsx endlink snapping. My left endlink snapped a few months ago, took it to the dealers, they were supposed to replace both sides, but no, only the left side.

Progress is the way to go My set will arrive later this week

There was a TSB for an endlink but I thought that was only on the Accord, not our TSX.

Make sure that you retorque all the bolts after a few miles of driving with the new swaybar. The initial driving around settles it in.

I bot the poly bushings from Summit, I get some thumping/clumping now-and-then from my rear end (of the car I mean) and think it's the bushings -- for $20, I like the poly bushings. Had good luck with those in the past in terms of longevity.

Hey lately due to the cold weather i've been getting squeaks in the rear going over bumps or people getting out of the car.

Does anyone think this is a bushing issue and they need to be regreased?

I installed a neuspeed swaybar spring.
