Offset... is it really that important?

I am thinking of getting these rims: http://www.1010tires.com/images/wheels/momo_gtr_lg.jpg
However I am bit concerned that the offset is only +38. How bad would that be on a TSX?

I believe it'll make your car look like a 4x4.

Nice pic - lack of size info.
17's? 18's? 7's, 7.5's, 8's?
Even devoid of that info, +38 sounds too much/little (depending on how you view the numbers) and it will protrude beyond the arch.
Of course, nothing to stop you getting them if you're set on them, and having a machine shop lop off 10mm.
If you do go down that route, make sure they'll guarantee their work for levelness (not a real word, but you know what I mean).
You'll certainly have a unique set of wheels if you do unless someone else does likewise.

They are 17x 7. That's why I didn't know if it would matter. 18s would be to much for sure. If I had to have them machined, the cost would not be worth the look.

I've got 16x7 Motegi MR7's, +42, for my 205/60 snow tires; the tread is all inside the fender, but the outer edge of the sidewall sticks out 1 - 2 mm (at the top of the tire, more at the bottom) from the outer edge of the fender. If you're planning to use a wider tire, I'd say you'll be spraying the side of your car - even more - when you turn. I have mudguards, and am not lowered.

I presume you mean the 18's are more than 7" wide and the same offset.
If that's the case, then you'd be right.
I don't know how much it would cost, but I'd have thought $50 per wheel should do it.
Make a few calls and see.
