HELP- Tein coilover install problem
Guys my TEIN basic don't look like like that
I looked everywhere on my suspension after my Tein Basic installed and I don't think they have this.. could I be wrong? I don't hear or feel anything wrong with my suspension.. drives good....
Read post #34 above. You need to reuse certain original hardware if they didn't include new ones. The Tein Basic didn't include the top mount either, and you reused the stock one, right?

If you don't have the bumpstop, you could do some damage to the struts if you hit a really big bump. Other than that, you wouldn't notice that it wasn't installed........

I don't recall, but are basics coilovers, or just springs?
James
According to the directions, Basics and SSs come with new bumpstops. Hopefully the installer put them in.
This is where you could look for it:
Can't see it with the dust cover pulled down.....
Push up the dust cover; still can't see it.....
Reach up under the dust cover and pull it down.....

It's wet and near freezing right now, and I think it's going to snow tomorrow, so I can't really try them out yet. Tuesday looks nice though, so look for a review and maybe a couple of pics.......
Installed my Tein SS today and thankfully didn't have this problem. If you follow the instructions closely you should be fine.
Its easy to miss the thick washers, they're pushed into the stock bumpstops on the fronts. you need to pull them out and put them below the black washers. the thick washers will fit perfectly into the grove of the Tein shock. Make sure its not upside down, I believe in the front the rounded side goes down, and on the rear the rounded side is up.
I sprayed everything with silicone lubricant as I was assembling it and haven't had any noises, clunking, or squeeking.
