End link replacements

It seems both of my end links are stuck, one is seized to the bar, on the other the hex is stripping. I have some clunking coming from the rear and want to tighten my end links, but they're so stuck it seems I'll have to mangle them and replace them with new ones.

Does anyone have a clue about all the end links part #'s out there? Sunnyside Acura's database lists different parts and prices for all 3 MY's (1st number is Honda price, 2nd is dealer price)

TSX 2004

006 52320-SEC-A01 LINK, R. RR. STABILIZER 1 2004 Acura TSX 47.95 39.13
007 52325-SEC-A01 LINK, L. RR. STABILIZER 1 2004 Acura TSX 47.95 39.13

TSX 2005

006 52320-S84-A01 LINK, R. RR. 1 2005 Acura TSX 30.58 24.95
007 52325-S84-A01 LINK, L. RR. 1 2005 Acura TSX 30.58 24.95

TSX 2006

006 52320-SDR-003 LINK, R. RR. STABILIZER 1 2006 Acura TSX 42.12 34.37
007 52321-SDR-003 LINK, L. RR. STABILIZER 1 2006 Acura TSX 42.12 34.37

Most of our suspension pieces are interchangable with the Accord so I looked up some parts and prices on Majestic Honda

Accord 4dr EX V-6 2005

36571 008 1 LINK, R. RR. STABILIZER NO COLOR 30.89 23.16
36572 009 1 LINK, L. RR. STABILIZER NO COLOR 30.89 23.16

Accord 4dr EX 2006
36571 008 1 LINK, R. RR. STABILIZER NO COLOR 30.89 23.16
2324177 008 1 LINK, R. RR. STABILIZER NO COLOR 13.21 9.91
36572 009 1 LINK, L. RR. STABILIZER NO COLOR 30.89 23.16
2324178 009 1 LINK, L. RR. STABILIZER NO COLOR 13.21 9.91

Accord 4dr EX V-6 2006
2036753 008 1 LINK, R. RR. STABILIZER NO COLOR 48.20 36.15
2036754 009 1 LINK, L. RR. STABILIZER NO COLOR 48.20 36.15

There's no real consensus on which part is for what, and it lists a strange $10 end link for the 2005 EX I4, strange. moda_away can you look up the difference in the 3 TSX MY's and possibly how similar they are to the Accord's?

I realize what the end links are and how to find the part #, my question is more like which one of these is the best. Each MY has a different part w/ different prices , I don't see the point of getting the 2004 if the 2005/6 is revised

My bad, I thought you werent sure wich one to go with.. Well I dunno I would say go with the ones that go on a heavier car so that way you get more reinforcement. I would'nt know if the suspension was revised for the 05-06 models..

Go with the 05/06 ones, and preferrably the Honda ones (cheaper).

I'll search around for the PDF that I had (or was it online?) that had the TSB for snapping endlinks, including the new endlink part numbers. They're supposedly beefier.

Edit to my above post: Found another post I made, referencing the PDF I had printed off.

The Accord "upgraded" endlink kit is: 06523-S84-A00

This same part number ran through the Acura computer no problem and my dealer confirmed it was the same as the Accord part (they are also the exact same price at Honda vs. Acura here in Canada, although I've heard they're double the price at Acura over Honda in the USA).

If you find it hosted somewhere, link it here and I'll add the link to our FAQ section.

Another option is to make your own custom end links with adjustable rod ends. I'm thinking about going that route if necessary.

make some and I will buy a set if they are thicker than the current ones. the stock ones seem really really thin to me.

The size of the thread is M12x1.75. So it should be thicker than the stock end links.

Stupid 5 minute rule for post edits...

Here it is:
http://www.honda-acura.net/forums/at...chmentid=43887

Found in this thread:

IIRC, you might have to call a Honda dealer directly, as I believe the part is a "kit" and not an actual replacement single part. Kits usually aren't available through their websites from what I found. I know when I mentioned this part number in the PDF to a Honda dealer in the states (phone), he found it in his computer right away.

Make up a parts list and post. I've been talking to my buddy who races a 350Z about getting a custom set made, but after I found out the cost, I was left saying

I hate the stock endlinks. They are just so easy to rust out and I get maybe 1 more chance to get mine off before I'll have to cut them.

The replacement kit referenced in the TSB shows on E-bay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...hippingPayment, $73 for a set shipped might be worth it to get the beefier ones than stock.

Look what I found! They look way better than the stock links. However, the feedback wasn't very good...

listed as $160 on hotchkis' site, do these actually fit the TSX or are they generic, Hotchkis shows an application for the RSX

I think they are just generic. The adjustment will take care of the height and angle. They will fit if the bolt size is 10mm.

Btw, the RSX uses 10mm bolts for the end links.

I remember while Googling for swaybar clunking, that there is a large amount of Subie owners w/ front swaybar clunk, regardless of what they tried to stop it from doing so. Might not be those Hotchkiss links that are the problem... they look solid.

Get one set of these (right hand thread) and one set of these (right hand and left hand). You might want to contact the seller to see if you can have the same right hand thread pieces.

Get 2 10mm nuts, 2 bolts and some bushings. Screw the male and female pieces together. The bushings are there to keep the head of the bolt/nut from touching the rod end bearing for more pivot clearance. The whole setup shouldn't be more than $70.

And you get 4 total right, so if you wanted to just replace the rear, it'd only require 2.

What locks the male end into the female end on those. And do you think those are long enough (seems shorter than the stocks), or does it not matter as long as they're is clearance

You need one male and one female on each side. So if you got one set of each with the right threads, then you can do both front and rear, have a spare set, or split the cost with another person. You will need to install one 10mm nut on each male piece to lock them down. The threads on the two pieces should allow enough height adjustment to match the stock height or set them to a custom height. Also, a little shorter is fine as long as there is clearance.

If its shorter, will an alignment be necessary? ie: What kinda of angles could be affected by this?

And, how do you know how long the ones you see on eBay, are? Are we sure they'd be long enough to be equal to the stock endlink?

And are no rubber covers required to keep dirt out?

Swaybar and endlinks don't affect the alignment settings. I don't know the actual measurement of those rod ends. I just use the 10mm hole as reference. I'm sure the seller can provide the info though.

in the front? most people are having clunking in the rear, unless you upgraded your front sway bar?

No I havent, but ever since I did my shocks and spings I get this clunk in the front exactly as described by some. Plus i get a little squeek I think that is coming from the FSB bushings. The rear is fine though.

hmmm... i don't think the end links would be the problem if you've never touched them. I would check your shock/spring install and make sure everything is seated and torqued right

received the beefed up end links today and they do look a good bit bigger than stock. the kit comes w/ 4 new nuts if anyone is wondering.

i ordered the kit off ebay, sunnyside honda is selling them as a 5th gen accord front sway bar end link, but the part # matches the accord TSB

The part # in the TSB is 06523-S84-A00, its not a normal part however, it refers to a kit of 2 end-links so it wont show up at online sites like sunnyside acura or delray acura.

I found someone selling them on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

Its $73.00 shipped from sunnyside honda (no relation to sunnyside acura)

the kit part # doesn't show up in majestic honda's site. you can buy accord front end links for $20 each, but it doesn't say whether these are the same size or beefier ones since they're a kit.

I'll look up the part number in the NA Parts Catalog.
