I had a 4 wheel alignment done then not to long after I installed tein s-techs with stock shocks, then I put in some koni yellows, then I went back to stock springs on koni yellows with the 20mm lowering perch, all of this was within 200 miles, I'm keeping it the way it is now with the koni and stock springs also I put tl type-s wheels on it with new tires, so the suspension has been changed about three times since the last alignment and I got new wheels, it still drives straight but I know that Dosnt always mean the alignment is good. Just trying to figure out if I need to get another one after all the suspension changes

the prices range depending on where you go. there are some guys on here that get the firestone lifetime deal for $120-150. dealers and tuner shops will charge $120+. big box shops (i hate these guys will charge around $80-90). also depends on where you are located. rural areas it might be a little cheaper. metro areas, $90 is about right.
i'm anal as hell as to who touches my car AND my wheels. i'll pay the extra money for peace of mind that the tech is taking care of my car while it's there. i like my dealer, they take care of me. they won't touch my wheels though (aftermarket). so for tires, i'll order tires and then go to a tuner shop to have them mount and balance.
i swear the last time i had my alignment done at a big box shop (merchant's) they messed it up and the car ate through the tires. i know the TL is finicky about it's alignment. if it's not about perfect, tire wear is excessive. not sure how the TSX behaves, but i can't afford to eat through tires every yr. ultimately i do know it's the guy doing the alignment that makes all the difference. big box shops...those techs more like workers, rarely give a crap. depending on the dealer, the techs will have a little more pride in their work (at least the ones at my dealer, they get a few bad seeds, but they eventually get weeded out).

that's a good price. how do they rate on dealerrater? remember it's the guy doing the alignment not just the shop. if you're nice about it when you go in and emphasize you'd like the toe settings to be as close to zero as possible then hopefully they will take care of you. how low are you?
oh and take the care there after a bath and request no wash. if they see you are anal then they'll get a clue (you hope) that you love your car.

its only lowered the 20mm from the perch on the koni shocks, i put the stock springs back in, also it dosnt have a camber kit because it wasnt low enough to need one, ill probably request the sheet that shows before and after adjustments

hmm. your dealer probably doesn't participate on dealerrater.com. a lot of them do. they should give you the alignment sheet with before and after. so you're only lowered about an inch or so. you should be ok. sometimes if you're slammed they can't get your car on the rack. do you have aftermarket rims? my dealer taped mine so the alignment clamps wouldn't risk scratching.

I have the same set up in my 05 TSX (Koni yellows at the lowest setting under OE springs). The rear camber change is significant, and since the OE suspension doesn't allow for rear camber adjustment, you won't be able to adjust it. My dealer made it clear that they couldn't do a proper alignment because it had been lowered. I did add an Ingalls kit and was able to get the alignment in spec. I wasn't particularly concerned about tire wear or handling, but I didn't like the way it looked (with the extra camber). Oh, I found a good shop that was able to do the alignment even with the modified suspension (among other things) by using the Tire Rack's installer database.Originally Posted by TLtrigirl

^^i hear ya. if the camber is bad enough then certainly a camber kit would be needed to correct it. OP is saying he's not that low. so...OP how much are you dropped? inch? 2 in?
the only thing that is adjustable on the alignment is the toe setting. if the rear is significantly (-) camber, inner tire wear is a concern (unless you dont' care).
i'm on Aspec suspension on my TL which drops the car maybe an inch. my dealer did good on mine.
OP-you might wanna ask the dealer if they can align your car since you're dropped. they may not want to work on it if the drop is moderate to aggressive. if they won't do it...i'd find a tuner shop. that's just me though. the tire rack installers...hit and miss (it was one of their installers that jacked up my other set of rims
).
like i mentioned before i'm particular about how my car gets handled. too many bad experiences.

did you have the older version of the koni yellows that had 5 perches verses the 3? mine has 3 perches in the back and 2 in the front, and the lowest perch is .7 inches front and back, i had tein-stechs on them too but the perch was at stock height and the camber is not nearly as bad now, from the eye it looks back to stock but i may have them check that out too when i take it up there, i hope i dont need one.Originally Posted by Simba91102

To be honest, I don't remember. I seem to remember 3 settings, but it was done like over 5 years ago. The consensus seems to be that out of spec camber won't really affect tire wear, that's the result of out of spec toe. And since one effects the other, it's hard to get the toe right when the camber is out and so on. Handling isn't an issue either.Originally Posted by 07tsx20

Well looks like ill be getting a free alignment, glad I havnt paid to get one yet because I ended up hitting a deer about 1am last night doing abt 60mph and I ran it over instead of it going over the car so they'll have to do an alignment along with the repairs, my poor car

good luck with the car.
