Cusco Type I Lower Strut Bar Install

I finally got time to install the cusco type I strut bar. I took a lot of pictures along the way. The install is not hard at all as long as you have the right tools. It should take an hour or less to do the install. I think it took me about 50min. The two bolts you have to take out are really long.

If anyone wants full size pictures for the install just send me a pm.

Nice! Does anyone know where the other two attachment points on the type II would brace?

Looks good!

My Cusco tower bar, and both Type I and II bars a waiting for me to collect on Friday (Thursday afternoon/early evening in the US). I anticipate installing them that afternoon, so I'll post some pics of all the three installed once I've finished if you guys are interested.

A quick question for you, did the installation sheet provide torque values for those bolts? If not can anyone with a Service Manual handy find out for me?

Otherwise I'll ask at the Honda dealer near work and without doubt they'll give me suspicious looks again

I may or may not take my car to the track on Saturday as they're having a free run. If I do I'll post a little review.

Matell,

You already have the comptech sway bar? Are these three cusco bars being added in addition to that?

Im curious to where and how they'll all fit in , keep us posted

Not a prob, I'll pull out some old japanese language textbooks and dictionaries . Naa, I know someone who'll be able to translate for me so that shouldn't be a problem.

Simply put the rear sway links the rear suspension to the chassis, the strut tower bar mounts between the two strut towers in the engine bay, and the type I and II braces provide stiffening between both sides of the chassis under the engine.

Yes. It will most likely work out cheaper ordering from them versus the US/CAN

Hey if I post the instructions could you find out by the weekend what they are supposed to be at so I could tighten them properly. I currently just made them tight again until I can out from someone with a manual or the dealer.

If you'd like, post the destructions up . I won't guarantee anything.

Otherwise I should have the torque values posted by the weekend (your Friday).

I have done some city driving and have not really noticed any dfference. I have also not had a chance to go on the highway or to push the car hard. However I do not think this bar alone will make a great difference. I think this bar plus the other two bars is where you will feel the difference.

you can use the type I and type II together? Wouldn't the type I harness the 2 points needed by the type II?

no one know yet but I believe the consensus is you can use both cause I think there was a picture that showed a car with both.

Here I found the picture of a car with both on.

Here are the pics.

Well I guess I am going to have a type one bar as a hood prop again once I get the type II bar.

Off-topic question:

In that picture where they tie the lower strut to the bottom of the chassis, can that part be used as a jack point or be supported on jackstand? I asked since the photos are available above....
