Talking tsx vs. accord (no sweat)

so i was going west on the causeway here in tampa around midnight when an accord sedan starts weaving in and out of traffic to get me to bite. he then cuts me off long enough to show off his "type r" badge. so i'm thinking, "let me put this high schooler to bed and get where i need to be in a hurry." long story short, i pulled about 6/7 car lengths ahead by the time i hit 110mph from a dig (never even had to hit vtec)! he was pissed, because he wanted more at the next light, but i respectfully declined and went about my business. fyi, it was a mid 90s accord with mods - cai, headers, etc. NOTE TO ALL THE BACKLASHERS: there were no cars in sight on this 6 lane road.

Ummm

Excuse my ignorance here, but how could he have been weaving in and out of traffic if there were no cars in sight?

^ that was before we came to a clearing on the causeway (just east of us 301). at that light, we had at least a couple miles of clearing. and it was a MID 1990s model

mid 1990s accord had 140hp... I wouldn't be proud of this if it was my kill.

If it was the 5th gen Accord (94-97) 4 cyl those only had 140 hp. I think the V6 version were 170hp. Then the 6th gen Accord (98-02) 4 cyl have 150hp and the V6 version is 200 hp.

I think you could take an Accord with a TSX until you get to the 6th gen V6 Accord with 200hp would be a close race, but I think the V6 in the 6th gen Accord would beat the TSX unfortunately. The new Accords especially in V6 form, no way in a TSX.

Still don't know why the Japanese didn't want to put a V6 in their JDM Accord and the Euro Accord at all. They put it in our US Accord because us Americans like to have the V6 option.

I suspect that it's because the "V6" designation in the American market carries more prestige. If you think about it, the entire J series motors are more geared toward the "displacement happy" american market where anything with a 4 cylinder is automatically categorized as an econo bucket. Honda's strength has always been in creating highly efficient and reliable small motors.

To me, the only "real" Honda V6 is in the F motor on the NSX. In a contrast to the V6 J-motors, the F motor has two cams and vtec lobes on the intake and exhaust cames.
