Going to the Track at 3pm

Im going to Englishtown Raceway Park again to test out the hondata reflash...last night went to some street races and won some and lost some..(even though i didnt technically lose!) The races i won: Lexus IS300 Manual with Exhaust and intake (that i seen and heard) maybe more since it was lowered.. beat him by a car with my friend in the car with me. The other win was against a Chevy or something.. it was a GTP or something..it looked fast. I beat him by about 2 cars or more..

The races i lost: First race of the night against a bubble back civic with a motor swap (obviously). I don't really take it as a lost but this guy had slicks and he had the better launch that put his back bumper at my front bumper and then HAZZARDS come on!! Im like "what the fuck??" I would've caught him! but oh well he ended up shuttin down after second gear! the next race was against a 99-00 Civic Si coupe. First run i was with my friend..i had the better start and was ahead (oh did that launch feel good!!) and then.... I FUCKIN MISSED SECOND!! i was heated!! So i asked him to run again.. So second run i launched at 2K rpms (like the last run) and caught traction very early..maybe around 3,5rpms... so he was ahead of me until 3rd and i was gaining on him approaching the end of 3rd gear..and then he shuts down! I dont think he had an Si motor though... i think it was a GSR motor.. but who knows.. everyone has swaps nowadays. but the TSX is no slouch anymore!..lol Top end is very nice now! Well with Hondata anyway..
I just need better tires!! and lighter rims!

nice i like the race results. I also have an 04 milano red tsx but i have the AT,unfortunattly, but anywase i was wondering if you felt a big difference when you put the injen CAI in, and same with the headers. My buddy put a CAI in but he didn't feel to much of a difference so i've been going back and forth if i should invest in one or not

Plus why would you want to street race anyways. With the difference in grip at launch the same car is close to a second slower on a street anyway.

Given what it costs to go to the tracks and the risks inherent to street racing(including getting busted), that`s pretty lame IMO.

Thats just what i like to do...i go to the tracks to see how fast i am time wise... the risks of getting busted for street racing are there but its just something i like doing.. Its not HIGHWAY RACING! I think cops should let us do it...we block off streets..its just 2 cars racing..no traffic! The cops cause more problems than anything..because when they come everyone scrambles and that can lead to accidents.. Its just like being at the track...and the streets we race on are very long and usually end before a 1/4 mile anyway.. More people show up on the streets because 1..ITS FREE! and then its THE NIGHT LIFE.. its also like being at a car show..alot of nice cars come out that dont race but watch.. Seen a tricked out NSX Friday Night.. Looked like something out of GranTurismo! All kinds of Motorcycles.. Everyone of all ages also.. this guy had to be like 40 racing his Porshe! Its just something to do late night.. and no one has gotten hurt that i know of.. only the ones that drive fast where traffic is!! No one has to agree with me.. but when these races go down, its just as safe as going to the tracks..what makes the tracks safer?? The Helmet?? Its all the same!

Oh..back to subject. My 1/4mile times sucked! i ran a 15.3 with a 2.3 60' !! I usually deflate my tires to 23psi.. this time i did 20 1/2.. Is it possible to run out of steam down the track due to deflating your tires too much?? because the car feels ALOT faster than before but the times dont show.. My tires are going bad as well..they are kinda bald in the middle, not completely but lower than the back tires are! The temperature was 79 degrees with 0 (Zero) HUMIDITY!! Im gonna go one more time and try again..but if i dont break 14's im getting another car!! J/K

There is absolutely just one single difference with when I go to my tracks on Friday nights: We pay 10$ to race. That's all.

But I'm legal, and I benefit from a real race track with better grip at launch.

When it becomes dangerous, don't blame it on the cops. They do their job that's all. You guys are the ones who are not legal.

If you really wanted to do it on the streets and not have any hassle, all you'd have to do is get an approval at the city hall to close one street in order to race on it.

No excuse is really of any value when one of your events do as little as injure someone.

The track is a controlled environment with the facilities (safety and emergency too) for racing. Street racing is illegal and will sooner or later get someone hurt. You're trying to make it sound like its little family picnic, which it isn't.

Ok..if you dont like it fine..but i will continue to do it..i respect how you feel.. and I WILL NOT KILL ANYONE IN THE PROCESS!..I can die at the track as well.. And not tryin to make it sound like a "family picnic" Only time you come close to people are at the starting lines.. Im wasting my time trying to explain myself.. Since you guys saying what your saying, i guess you havent attended a street race event?? Like i said.. Its not like HIGHWAY RACING WHEN OTHER CARS ARE INVOLVED.. Its just like being at a track without being there.. just night life fun. Its like NBA and NBA Street, NFL and NFL Street, GranTurismo and Need for Speed Underground..Race Track and then the Streets!..lol But like i said..i respect how you guys feel and see things..but thats just not me.. i just like to race reguardless of where it is..This is a Racing Thread..where does it say it has to be TRACK RELATED ONLY?? So stop bashing because there will be more to come with other members!

I regret to say this, but if you're going to come out and brag about your street racing feats, you have to expect to get flamed since this is a board with more mature members than you will find at ClubSI or any other of those boards.

Too bad it's hard for you to accept differing opinions from others, but that won't change anything.

And I hope you never injure anyone.

maybe if he gets caught he'll see why he shouldn't street race.

well anyway, there was a story here in florida - where a guy was drag racing his friend on the street - and that guy rear ended another car.

well turns out that the car the guy hit belonged to his mom - and she died.

i bet he'll never live that down.

and about street races - those are dangerous as hell.

i've seen people run across the street when cars are racing at the street races.

my friends car got hit and run by at a street race when it was getting broken up by the police.

so anyone who says street racing isn't dangerous is obviously trying to disguise the obvious - street racing is dangerous not only to the individual who is racing - but also to the bystanders and onlookers as well.

and i agree with sauceman, this is a more mature forum that doesn't agree with street racing. if a member feels threatened or even violated that other members are suggesting that he doesn't street race - maybe that member should realize that the forum has good intentions for him.

of course, nothing that we say or do will make your decision for you - it's up to the driver whether or not they will drive responsibly or not.

as for comparing street racing in video games (the reference he made about gran turismo to need for speed undergroudnd) that isn't a good basis for an argument.

so i guess killing people is ok too b/c they have it in grand theft auto.

hopefully, our young member here doesn't have to find out the hard way about street racing.

Some of you guys really need to relax, in one way or another, all of us have surely been involved in a street race, there is no need to give this guy a hard time.

Also, access to a drag strip is limited in certain areas (I live in bay area, and the nearest drag strip is 40 miles away, to make matter worse, it is only open to public on wednesday). Imo, as long as he is not speeding in a crowded or risky area (neighbourhood, school, construction, etc), there is nothing harmful about passing the speed limit once in a while (pls dont tell me that you all commute at the speed limit every single day).

We all like to see how ourcar perform with modifications, and this forum is in a sense, a racing section, if you dont like what you see, ignore it, there is no need to act all wise and holy about other people's action.

Exactly.... I just like the rush of street racing.. these street race events vary from place to place.. i've been doing it for years now and havent seen any accidents from the actually races..but have seen them on other streets during traffic!.. I dont like racing when other cars are around.. No point in that because when traffic approaches, someone is gonna have to slow down! This mature site does have alot of "modders" though!..
