wtf is up with my NAVI?

Whenever I search for destinations by place name (e.g. Yoshinoya), it brings up shit from 2000 miles away! WTF? Eventhough there's one up the street that's been there for years! The only way for me to find it is through ---> Category
----->Restaurants. Is it just me or is this something that happens to everyone?

It has happened to me before. I forgot what it was, but I didn't pay attention to the address, and I just touched OK. Good thing that my wife caught it, otherwise I would've driven probably 20 miles before I realized that I was going to a place in FL.

Yeah. Seems that there is only a limited database that gets searched when you look by "name"; I'm not 100% sure, but I think there are a lot of places that are in there SOMEWHERE -- e.g. they will show up if you "Sort by Distance" -- but for some reason they won't show up in that other search. So, if you look by name, the closest place the Nav will find might be 2000 miles away. Pretty silly.

Another silly thing: If you "Sort by Distance" while you're driving, and then, after looking for a couple of minutes and driving a couple of miles further meanwhile (hopefully it's the passenger who's looking down the screen ), you want to punch it up anew (by hitting "cancel" a few times, then going forward again), to get the places that are NOW the closest to you, it's hard as hell to get the Nav to do that? (Instead, you usually get the same list again, with the same distances as before indicated for each place, even though now you're way past that.) To get a new list, you have to start totally from scratch.

Navi

The only problem I had with this thing so far was the voice recognition. I quickly learned that almost all of the voice commands work ONLY when the map is up. I usually keep mine on the trip computer at night. It looks great with the soft blue lighting in the car.

pay close attention to the state that you are searching in along the top of the display. If you are starting in NY and looking for a place in Florida, it won't work.

I dont have a TSX yet but getting 1 wit navi nov 21. But n e way i got a 3.2 tl 2000 navi. I had the same prob but there was a catagory at the main screen that says select state=>select city=> home address. I did this and it started listing locations in the city i put in and then to other states. I still could not get it to find the closest 1 to me depending on where i was. Like i was in houston 1 weekend and it listed locations according to my house. You can try that and c if it works. or you can always sit down with the manual it deffintly will have it in there. I personally jus call the dealer if i got get something.
