Steering Wheel Clicking After Bump

I was driving to work the other day, and a highway I cross had been ground down, ready for paving, so there was a lip of a couple of inches on each side. I forgot the dip was there, and there were no signs up along my route, and smacked into the opposite ledge at about 50 mph. Wham! I checked the rims and tires, and they look OK, and there's no vibration or pulling or anything, but there's a slight clicking as I turn the steering wheel left and right gently. Maybe I never noticed it, and it was there all along. Could someone please check and see if it's that way in another car? It's very slight, but it's there even if the wheel is locked and you rock the wheel back and forth about twice a second.

is the clicking sound from interior or outside? if you hear click sound when you are turning, the cv joint may be damaged, or it cab be your VSA working (for any reason?) but i suggest exame your car for any physical damage, if looks okay, and let your dealer check it and hopefully cover under warrenty..

I think it's coming from inside, with the car not running. Just a slight click as I rock the wheel back and forth quickly. I don't hear anything near the wheels.

is the key in the ignition? does it only happen when the car is off? if so, u may be engaging the steering wheel lock by turning the wheel left or right without the key in. if so, thats completely normal.

That's not a bad idea. I'll do that as soon as I can. Why tempt fate?
