Hello! this is a last resort for me as i and my dad have tried everything we can think of. My 2006 Automatic Transmission TSX has been having some trouble shifting. The car will be driving fine, and then when it is not accelerating, the whole car starts to jolt forward (it kind of feels like it’s throbbing back and forth. super weird), then the whole thing will aggressively shift down to third gear and the VSA light comes on and the Check Emissions system light comes on and the whole thing starts jolting and braking at the same time? When i stop the car while it’s doing this, it jolts aggressively once or twice then stops. When i accelerate when its doing this, it again jolts aggressively once or twice as if its trying to shift out of third gear but it cannot. I’ve tried putting it in reverse and back into drive. I have changed the automatic transmission fluid and the filter. I’m not sure what else it could be besides the clutch. i really don’t want to spend any money on it taking it to a shop because that gets pricey , especially since it’s an acura. I should also mention that there is a strong gasoline smell coming from rear drivers side door. Sometimes when the gas cap isn’t tightened extremely tight, the Check Emissions System light will also come on. There is not visible puddle or leak under neath the car. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
