voice recognition stopped working

I don't know what happened to my voice recognition system. I press the button and i talk but it doesn't respond. I tried changing a lot of settings but still no luck. I tried turning off the fan and the radio and then speaking but it still doesn't do anything.

I have a 2004 TSX with about 75000 miles on it.

Does anybody know if there is a way to reset the voice recognition system?

No its full, and all the settings are ok, i never changed anything. It used to work sometimes if i pressed the voice button and said commands over and over but now it doesn't work at all. The car just won't respond to any commands

I have an '07 and it hasn't worked like it should since I bought it. I've only had the car for about 15 months and the voice commands have proven useless for me. I can push the voice command button 50 times (did it this morning), hold it for 60 seconds (also did this) and it will never beep to accept my command. I took it into the dealership to have them fix it, but the manager explained that nothing was wrong. When I picked it up, it worked. On the way home, it stopped working again. I've just given up on it.

well mine did that a few times too, it would work sometimes and then other times i could try it a 100 times and it would not respond. It sucks because i actually used it a lot, hopefully i can get it checked out and its a minor software fix or something.

Dont give up on something as important as that!.. Its part of your nav system so take it back and have them fix it! If you go back enough they'll replace it!

hey man, i had similar nav issues, except, my nav system would actually freeze when i pressed the talk button. Additionally, i had power issues, and static issues that occurred during the voice guidance.

I sent my nav system (trunk unit) to Alpine (1888 NAV HELP) with little hope that it could all be fixed.

Not only did they fix the system to work perfectly, they did it in record time (11 days including shipping from MD to CA and back).

They only charged me $155 and i had to pay shipping one way ($40).

Additionally, I got a 90 day refurb warranty. The $155 is a set cost, the guy on the phone told me that they are seeing a lot of these and that they are able to refurbish nearly 100% of the units to factory condition. hope that helps. PM me if you want any more details.

any new ideas? I talked to the guy at the dealer during the recall fix, and they said something in the system is screwed up. Don't know how much they would charge to fix it.
