the Trunk button can't open up the trunk

I just find out today that my trunk can't be open by the button locate near the rear license plate.

I had check the lock button inside the glove box, and tried switch them around but unfortunately it still does not work

There is no problem with the button beside the driver seat or the button locate on our keyless remote. Just that rear trunk button doesn't work. I guess I'll have to bring it to the dealer to check this week.

Did you unlock all the doors?
If you only press the unlock button once with the key fob, it only unlocks the driver door.
If you press it twice it unlocks all door inluding the trunk button.

Just a suggestion, you probably knew that. Time for a dealer visit if that doesn't work and you check the valet lock button.

As I recall, I think someone had a bad master switch in the glove box one and that was the issue that sounds similar to this one.

so does that mean they just need to change the master switch to a new one and everything will be fine?
I will bring the car to the dealer probably today or wednesday and I'll update this to you guys
again, thanks moda_way

Why is your switch in the glovebox? My switch is inside the trunk lid, just behind and to the right of the number plate.
Just open your trunk, look on the inside of the lid where the numberplate's position is and the switch is there.

They are talking about the "master trunk" switch. You have one in the glovebox too.

None in my glovebox... just a little hole. I even pulled down my glovebox to access the pollen filter and I didn't find a switch. My master trunk switch is on my bootlid. It disables the boot release handle that is above the numberplate. That's the same switch, right?

I went to dealer to have it fix yesterday, waited for 4-5 hours
they couldn't find out the exact reason for why it doesn't work
they assume that there is something wrong with the fusebox and they have to order one and replace the old one. Therefore I will bring it there to let them change it tomorrow. They said it need at least half a day.
Now I hope the button works after changing that part.

i'm using a courtesy car right now.

Maybe a solenoid is fried?

Have him find the wires that are closest to the latch and see if power goes to it when you press the button. If it has no power then goto the switch and see if there is a power signal leaving the switch. If there is, the problem is somewhere in between.

Then have himm pull oput the electrical book for the TSX and follow the wiring from button to trunk and test whatever is in between. I bet it's a solenoid somewhere.

got fix now...actually is the problem with the right rear door knob switch inside of the door panel, which was told a very rare problem. Dealer tried to unlock each door one by one, and found that when they unlock the rear right one, the red light (security system) is still on. So there are some problem with the switch / sensor there.

I'm happy to have my tsx back and fixed
Thanks guys!!

Glad to hear you got your problem fixed, and thanks for keeping us posted with the details.

Unfortunately, I just started having this damn problem.

Not only does the trunk button doesn't work, but also all doors don't open on the 2nd push of the button on the transmitter (however, they open if I set to 1-push all-doors unlock setting, but I don't want that). Anyway, master switch is set to OFF, so don't know what else to troubleshoot. Going to have the dealer look at it when it's time for the next oil change.

"Merry New Year!"

I am impressed by your dealer...that's a tough problem to diagnose. I think if a problem was that specific most dealers would have given up.
