TPMS Problem?

I just swapped my stock TSX wheels/tires for some TL wheels/tires. The person who sold them to me told me that he had the same TPMS in his 06 TL and that the wheels had sensors in them so they should be "plug and play." Well I am now getting a system error with the TPMS. Do the sensors only correspond to a single car/TPMS system? What else could be wrong?

The TPMS has to be re-initialized to learn to recognize new sensors. Pretty much can only be done with the Acura HDS diag. tablet at the dealer.

took it to the dealer today and they didn't know what to do. they said the sensors are probably different (06 TL Wheels on a 07 TSX). They were gonna charge me $107 just to look at it but I said no. I think I might just leave it the way it is unless I find a solution here.

Can you scroll past the error message, or are you stuck staring at it on the dashboard?

can't you just have the sensors moved from your old wheels to the new ones?

you should call around to some aftermarket wheel shops in your area and talk to them. If they're a good shop then they'll be familiar with moving them oem to aftermarket wheels and have no problem doing it for you.
