Temperature of coolant low

I just got my TSX on Friday and have noticed that the coolant temperature reading on the dash is low (low = needle at 1/3). Should I get this checked at the dealer or not worry about it?

OMG, you should rev your engine a lot more. j/k

my engine temp needle is always below the halfway mark. No need to be concerned.

That's the normal readout. If you take that to the dealer, they'll laugh at you.

Could anyone tell me why is this happening? Coz mine 08TSX(first gen) in Australia is doing the same thing. Although I drove it for more than an hour, the coolant temperature reading on the dash is still lower than normal(middle). Is it a good thing or bad thing?

Where are you guys getting the idea that it should be exactly in the middle? Anywhere that's not at the very top or very bottom (after a bit of driving) is fine.

The temp gauge is not an accurate way to determine coolant temp. If you want to know where on your gauge is the normal reading, go borrow an OBD2 scan tool and monitor the actual coolant temp, then compare it to your gauage. You would be surprised how inaccurate the guage is.

if you have an 04, get the thermostat changed. That will take care four problem. It gets weak over time. In the winter you will not get good heat. even if its not bad it will get weak over time.
