Sunroof Leaks!

Anyone else having this issue?

I was driving in a heavy rainstorm yesterday, and had all the windows up and the roof closed, with the shade open.

Every now and then, a drop of water was landing on my arm! I got in to the car before the rain started, so it wasn't falling off my head.

When I finally got to where I was going (not raining there), I slid my fingers between the glass of the roof and the fabric roof area of the car (pretty big gap) and felt a long narrow brush. Just beyond and below the brush, there was a slight trough, that had water in it! Every time I would hit the brakes semi-hard, a drop would roll forward off the trough and hit my arm.

Why was there H2O INSIDE the car when everything was closed??

Anyone else notice this? It's "rainy" season here and now I am a little worried.

def take it to the dealer, they will fix it for you...the only other problems i've heard about with the sunroof is the rattle issue...

We have a 2000 TL, and the sunroof has been a real problem. The dealer adjusts it all the time, and we just stopped opening it. Boo! Not sure why Acura can't seem to get those things right!

Yeah, bring it to your dealer. They can adjust the forward/backward travel of the glass, as well as tweak the height when the front of it meets the roof. If you have it open alot, you might also clean around the edges of it to get any sort of residue off before they adjust it. Just a thought.

That's a pretty massive generalization there. I have had several Acuras and Hondas and have never had a sunroof issue of any kind.

I have had a drop of water fall on my arm a few times too when it's raining, but I thought i was crazy and didn't pay much attention to it until you brought it up...

I doubt this will help you much, but my Ledgend (RIP) had a similar problem. A few times when I had my shade closed water accumulated and when I eventually drove the car a waterfall of water doused me when I used my brakes. Funny and annoying at the same time. This was more than a drip because of the volume of water.

drain hole might be clogged. Sunroofs have drains since water can/will collect there.
