Starting Problem???? HELP

04 TSX

So I charge my 1 month old yellow top Optima overnight using a 12v 10amp charger I have at home, and this morning I try starting and I hear a couple of sputters and then it just dies. Now, whenever I try starting I hear a SINGLE click and nothing turns. Battery is good, and all electrical stuff is functional. I would note that when I try starting, I hear a series of clicks coming from the fuse box, but when I checked all of the fuses they seemed okay.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I dread having to tow my car to a dealership =(

The car is 5 years old. Have you had the starter checked? It shouldn't be too hard to pull out and just about every auto parts place will check them for you for free.

But from using search, it doesn't sound like people really have problems with the starter.. Any of the techies here have any more recommendations off of the scenario?

I also just realized that when I was charging it I was doing manual charge mode, instead of automatic which would have automatically shut off when the battery was fully charged.. But the battery still powers all the electrical stuff in my car other than starting.. Weird?

Double check the battery connections. A loose connection can provide enough power for accessories but not necessarily enough for the starter.

Is it possible to blow the starter by overcharging the battery?
