Manual Transmission Issues - What is the problem??
Here is the story...I have an 06 TSX 6mt which has had a transmission problem since 3k miles. At 3k they replaced clutch master cylinder for clutch creak. Around 10k I noticed a vibration upon acceleration after the 1-2 shift while on a slight incline between 2-3k rpms. Master tech acknowledged the issue and replaced the intermediate shaft and the right side inboard CV joint. This did not fix the issue, at 20k returned for same issue when they replaced the left side CV joint. At this point it still was an issue but I was so disappointed in Acura quality I wanted to just get rid of it. However, I recently found out taking on a car loan would reduce my home buying power (d/i ratio).
Since I decided to keep the car for a while, I brought it back yesterday. They said they did not find an issue. Today, while I was driving around it was doing it quite consistantly. I decided to drive right to the dealer and drive it with the tech. He acknowledged the issue again but didn't know what it was. He said he was going to take it for a ride with another tech who had an 04 mt who may know what it is. 5 minutes later he said he talked to the other tech and he said they all do it. At this point I was upset because I have been dealing with this for years with them replacing all sorts of things. Now, because the tech line doesn't have any info for the issue they are saying it is normal. The service manager advised me to come back on Friday when the Acura guy will be there and go for a drive with him. I don't know who this is and don't trust him either. I told them I am calling Acura because I am shocked they acknowledged the issue and made multiple repairs under warranty but now it is deemed fine. He said they are staying away from the clutch because its a wear item and wouldn't be covered at this point. I told them this has been going on since 1st year of ownership and that is bull. If they thought it was the clutch they would just say so. I then asked could it have anything to do with my first oil change when the filter wasn't put on correctly and oil went all over the place when driving home?
I called Acura and they seemed to care but who knows. They said I will receive a call tomorrow. The dealer didn't have a mt to drive to determine if it was a normal issue. Why didn't they do that years ago when they were sitting on the lot, oh right, that's because it was not normal.
So does everyone else receive a shudder when accelerating after shifting 1-2? And how should I proceed with this, as I am afraid this "Acura guy" will just say it's normal and close the file.

i got an 06 6mt. and no problems for me. the only probly i used to have was for some reason it grinded from first to 2nd but only at the end of the throw. but that has gone away. and i have 64000 on my car. other than that i have had no issues with the tranny. u should probly go to a different acura dealer and see what they say. that to me does not sound normal.
I kind of get that slight shudder sometimes too. I always thought it was the drive by wire; from what i've read here. BUT your situation sounds a lot different...Try a different dealership, see what Acura of USA has to say when they call you back.
05 MT here and sometimes get the problem. Sometimes I feel it's very hesitant, but like above, I was reading it's the whole drive by wire deal. Only problem I have is that the shifting from 1-2 will grind/not go into gear at higher RPMs
Update: Just got off the phone with Acura who is setting up the car to been seen by the field rep on the 17th. He said he will be the person to determine if it is a characteristic of the car since they have no used ones to compare it to. I have a feeling he will not be able to duplicate and I will have to go there and drive it with him. In the meantime I am going to find a used mt and test drive to see if it is normal. I'm tired of being asked by my passengers, why did your car just shake? If this is deemed "normal", I will NEVER drive another Acura/Honda and unload this car....I have a 97 Altima with 160k that has never needed service outside of routine maintenance.
My 6MT shudders on occasion, usually when I have more then one other person w/ me. I think it's just the added weight that causes me to underaccelerate while letting the clutch pedal out, and that induces clutch chatter.
However, mine NEVER shudders/chatters unless I'm modulating the clutch at that instant. It NEVER shudders while just accelerating and not touching the clutch.

Mine does this , When accelerating in first gear after i've released the clutch there is some weird rubbing / noise coming form the car it only happens around 700rpm to 1500 rpm then goes away after that. I just kind of deal with it, if it gets worse and causes a problem ill deal with it then.

I had a slight vibration upon acceleration, and when I took it in for service I told them that I had read about others (in this forum) having the same issue and that the problem ended up being the drivers side axle shaft.
The first time I took it in they replaced the intermediate shaft (44500-SDA-A00 SHAFT ASSY., HALF), and the problem still existed.
The second time I took it in they replaced the drivers side axle shaft (44306-SEA-N50 DRIVESHAFT ASSY., L.), and that finally did the trick.
