Start up issue

Hi all,

I'm experiencing an issue starting the car lately. The car seems to struggle to start for the first start-up of the day, and then seems fine for the subsequent start-up for the remaining day. Here's a video clip I took this morning:

Based on the other thread, it seems some people resolved a similar issue by replacing the starter. Would a bad starter affect only the very first start up of the day, and not subsequent start up? I wanted to avoid paying $500+ for a starter replacement and not being able to resolve the issue.

Any help will be much appreciated, thanks!

A weak battery losing charge overnite is more likely. Have battery tested and inspect/clean battery connections.

good luck

Thanks for your replies!

Battery was changed roughly 1/2 year ago, so I'm fairly confident that is not the issue. But I can double check on this

A corroded battery connection or faulty positive or negative wire can cause similar symptoms. Testing for voltage drop across connection and wire will ID this problem. Don't rule out faulty battery w/o a test.

good luck

Checked the battery connection and also test the battery, they seem to be in an acceptable state. Any other suggestion(s)? Thanks for your help!

You could perform an amp draw test to see if starter is pulling excss amps due to dragging (wear of starter).

good luck
