The car is sitting in the drive way. Is there any way I can start the car to avoid towing? And is it a hard task to change the sensor for someone with moderate skills?

Its not hard to change it. Its a pain in the ass to get to. You have to remove the crank pulley(which can be hard to do),timing belt cover, timing belt just to get to it. Then its just 1 bolt and its off.
If the crank position sensor is faultyyou wont be able to run the car. It baisicly tells teh ecu where each cyl is and tells it when to fire ect...

I did get a code for crankshaft position sensor two days ago, and I am assuming this is why it is not starting. Am I making an A... of my self by ASSuming this, or the failure of this sensor does cause this problem?
The first acura dealer told me it is a 6 hour job and the second one said 4 and half hours.

If the car isnt starting and that is the code, it most likely is. The computer doesnt know where the position of the crank shaft is to run, so it wont let it start. and id say its about a 4 hr job for a tech
