Squeaky Windows!!
Squeaky Windows!!
I found several threads on this, but couldn't really get any firm details. My 08 TSX has had randomly squeaking windows when I pull them down, it's been doing it since new (has 8k miles on it now) and I've taken it to the dealer twice. The first time was for the front passenger window, they said they replaced some molding and the problem seemed fine for a few days, then it came back. After my drivers side started making the noise I decided to take it into the dealership last week...
...their response? They didn't hear anything, but if it squeals that's part of the car's behavior and nothing can be done. IMHO that's a pathetic answer, I didn't spend over $30k for a car that has defective effing windows. Can you guys that had this problem tell me how you got it resolved, and what the TSB numbers are (I couldn't find this).
I need to find a better dealership here in NJ....

hello.
well, the problem maybe because of rubber.
this is a total guess.
if I were you, having been to the dealer with no fix available, I would
go ahead and do the following to see if it works:
get a can of silicone spray lubricant.
roll the window all the way up.
put your finger on the window down button, getting ready.
quickly spray a small amount of silicone along the
bottom of the window, all the way across.
then quickly roll the window down. wait a few seconds (5).
then roll the window back up.
repeat no more than two times per window.
this is a complete guess, I would do it on a whim and pray it works.
you can try opening up the door panel.
then conditioning all of the rubber and plastic that touches the window
with the silicone spray lubricant. but not too much at all, not enough
to leave extra that would get all over the window. just enough to get the
rubber or whatever so it's not all dried out anymore.
complete guess really, but maybe worth a try.

I had some at home (this stuff is magic for anything), and it worked 100%.
