Squeaky rubber!

I'm intrigued by the easily solveable problem that many of seem to have. That is, the rubber gaskets on the doors and sunroof make a bit of a racket at first. The noise from my sunroof used to be pretty impressive. It was annoying, to say the least. But, like many of you, I was able to fix it by just applying some vinyl protectant to the gaskets. Whoosh! Silent car......

I had to do it twice to the door gaskets to get it to work, but now I have no noise whatsoever.

So, my question is this: Why is the TSX having this problem? None of my past Honda vehicles (and I've had a few) had these issues?

How come Acura doens't take some sort of steps to cure the problem? When I raised the issue with the dealer, he didn't even know what I was talking about!

I have lubed mine three times. Each time it lasts about 2-3 months.

My dealer simply told me that it was 100% normal. All you can do is lube the seals and live with it.

I agree. Why don't they address this. IT can't be "normal". If so, I would never buy another Honda / Acura. It is very annoying. I have never had it in any other car I have ever owned.

I'm basically having the same experience. I have to do it every few months as well.

I don't know what is causing this issue, although it certainly hasn't soured me on the TSX.

It's probably not the noisy seals that are souring me on Acura. It probably has more to do with my center stack lighting going out, my A-pillar rattle (finally fixed), my door speaker rattle, my seat creaking, my clutch clicking (replaced master cylinder, and now it is back again), and my rotors warping.

Sorry for the rant, but considering that I went with Acura so that I wouldn't have to deal with just this kind of crap, I am fairly disappointed.

Very fun to drive, but these ongoing problems are masking the fun.

Has the new rubber held up or did the noise eventually come back?
