squeaking seats?

Anyone else experiencing a squeaking driver seat? I just start noticing it today and it is reproducible when I apply pressure near the area where the lumbar support starts. It sounds like a bad spring and it is annoying. It's like I'm sitting in a cheap couch. And no, I'm not heavy.

I'm going to have the dealer check it out after I get my car repaired from the bodyshop first -- still waiting on parts to arrive :'(

Mine does the exact same. Do you think this is something worth having the dealer look at? They wont think I'm crazy will they?

I would definitely point it out to them the next time you're there and yes it is definitely worth looking at.

I had my Integra for 6 years and never had that problem. I've driven in my dad's 3.5RL and never had any problems either. My TSX only has 5000 miles and I know for sure it is not supposed to be doing this.

To repair this, they will be removing the seat cover right? What do you think of the reinstallation. Can it be as tight fitting and attractive as factory?

I have the same problem. Had it in to the dealer once already. Dealer popped the back cover off and dropped in some insulation. The problem got better, but didn't go away. I'm supposed to take it back soon. They want to try foam instead of insulation.

The problem all started when I was messing with the lumbar support. Seems the mechanism knocked something loose and then my seat squeaked/creeked.

I have to say that I use the lumbar support switch frequently...and once I heard a pop. I wonder if it did knock something loose?

I did notice sometimes when I adjust the power seatback lever I'll hear a sort of "popping" noise - but I think it's just from the friction of the leather in between the "joints". Anyone else with a similar sound?

Are you talking about the power seat controls or the lumbar support lever?

In any case, I do get a popping sound occasionally from the motorized seat controls.

I did talk to the dealer about it before.. And the reply was that "every TSX makes the same sound. They cant fix it because it "has to be that way" for all TSX.. something like that. Bull right?

My driver side seat has squeeked since day one. It seems to be coming from the top portion of the back support when pressure is applied. Reaallly annoying.

HondaBoy, has yours been fixed yet? I can't see insulation helping if the springs are defective. Anyone had their seat replaced?

Not yet. The insulation made a big difference. My seat makes the noise in the upper portion as well. Was sooo loud (before the insulation), it was driving me crazy. Sounded like a cheap couch.

With the insulation added, it still makes the noise, but it's muffled. The dealer wants to try foam instead since it's thicker and more durable.

Don't worry about the dealer taking your seat apart. They just popped the back off and worked on it from there. I couldn't tell they even opened it up.

I'm taking it back soon to try out the foam, but it may be a month or two before I have time.

Mine is also coming from top portion of the back support, which makes it seem more like a defect in the construction of the seats, since everyone is experiencing it at the same spot.

I'll be taking mine to the dealer as soon as I get my car back from bodyshop.

I can only hear mine during night hours when no sound from outside can be heard, otehrwise I can;t hear it during the day. Is that consider the same creak? i took it back before and they gave the same bullshit as always, "Unable to duplicate"

I've got the squeaking lumbar too -- only when I have the support extended.

I don't really care about the feature anyway (seems to hit me too high on, near my upper back, and I'm 6'4"), so I retracted the support. I wish all the creaks/rattles were such an easy workaround/fix.

Wow, this problem was around in 2003, and its happened on my 07 since day one when I bought it two weeks ago. I kind of thought it was leather needing to be conditioned. I conditioned it, didn't go away. Its making the noise somewhere in the lumbar support area. This is nuts! And my passenger seat is messed up.

What did I get myself into??

I know about the rails issue, but what about the lumbar support issue? Any TSB for that?

Thanks!
