Slight pull to right from full stop, Normal?

I just got a 05 TSX AT, and I've been noticing a slight pull to the right when accelerating quickly from a stop. Is this normal? If it isn't what would cause this, and how would I relay this info to the dealer for a fix? Thanks for any advice!

Known issue. Take it into your dealership for service. There are a set of new control arms for the rear of the car that will take care of this.

I've not seen a TSB for it, but a few ppl took their's in (I think both MT and AT) and they ordered new rear control arms and put the car on an alignment rack. Since the TSX has no camber adjustment in the rear and limited toe, they just replace the arm. I'm assuming the arm itself must be out of spec. This has fixed some ppl's problems from what I've read.

I have fully adjustable lower arms, so it has been an issue for mine to get adjusted when needed.

Mine was pulling to the left from Day 1, got an alignment, it was a bit better, but still a very slight pull. Mentioned it at my first service and dealer replaced the control arm and did another alignment. Car isn't pulling now, but I still have a slightly off-centered steering wheel (turned slightly to the right) when going straight. When I mention that, they seem to just care about the alignment, which is fine now I suppose. Is it a pain to realign the steering wheel or do they just don't want to bother if the car's alignment is correct? Is a small thing, but it gets annoying on a daily basis...

Alignment of the steering while is supposed to be part of a normal alignment job. I would take it back to the dealer and tell them to do a correct alignment and that this is not the way the car should be.

In order to properly align it, they would have to adjust the tie rod ends while it is on the rack. Basically, this is an additional 30 mins they are chosing not to spend on your car.

Basically, until they correctly adjust the steering wheel (which IS NOT by taking it off), your car isn't aligned properly.

I'm curious: how would the rear control arms cause my car to pull to the right when accelerating from a complete stop? It just tugs for half a second and then I don't notice it anymore. How long would it take the mechanic to fix this problem? Thanks for the quick response. .

The way you described it sounds like a bit of normal torque steer to me.

I'm not a car expert, but I've heard that certain FWD sport cars will pull slightly to one side at times due to the way the transmision may favor one side more than another. Is this true?

Weird that you're experiencing torque steer. It can be caused by an alignment problem. So far I haven't experienced any torque steer in my car. Although in my CRX, I experience a lot of torque steer primarily due to big rims and a torquey transplanted vtec motor.

I agree. It does sorta sound like torque steer too, but what still concerns me is the mention of the steering wheel not being straight on level ground. I would still insist an alignment be checked if not just for the steering wheel issue.

I drove another 05 TSX today and noticed the same pull. Seems like it must be a normal occurance, if not normal.
