Hey Guys:
Can anyone who has successfully shaved thier emblems tell me how they did it and what they used. I want to shave mine but I'm scared that I'll ruin the paint and I heard that I'll need to re-clearcoat it????? Please help!

The method that a lot of people use is this:
1) Heat the emblems with a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive.
2) Use some dental floss (any flavour) under the emblem to help lift it off.
3) Clean up any leftover adhesive with "Goof off" or WD-40.
I've never heard of anyone damaging their paint that way. No re-painting or clearcoat should be needed.

Bug and tar remover works just as good for the excess glue.
If you do it out in the sun, and use a hair dryer, you should have no glue on the car at all if you remove the pieces slow enough. You can even get away without using floss to remove the pieces as well, just grab an end and SLOWLY (can't stress that enough!), SLOWLY peel the pieces away from the car. You don't wanna scratch the paint ripping the piece off.

Thanks guys--I did it! I can't begin to thank you enough for the advise. Go to My CarDomain Site for pics of the project. Thanks again!
