Shaking above 50 mph... need balancing? Stupid dealer.
so, i took my car to the dealer to look at my brakes and have him look at a problem with my car..
when i go above 50 mph, my car shakes ever so slightly. it feels like im on a bumpy road almost. i cant notice any wobble in the car below 50 mph or so. i think i need to have my tires balanced again. does this sound right?
the service center at the dealership called me to tell me they put the car on the lift and definitely saw a wobble in the tires but couldnt balance the tires because they are aftermarket wheels and they need weights to do it (?). no problem. so when i went there to pickup my car, i asked which tire had the wobble in it. his response, "we saw it in all of them." what?!?? that doesnt even make sense! lol, anyways... do we think i need to get my tires balanced again or is there the small possibility that i have a bent rim? i havent hit anything at all including any large bumps or potholes...

It's not very likely that all 4 of your wheels are bent. Unless you bought really cheap wheels...
I dont know what they mean by the weights. Aftermarket wheels use the sticky weights when balancing and that's what our TSX wheels use from the factory. I think they are just making excuses.
I would go to a high performance suspension shop and have them do a balance. DO the high speed road force balance.

Well, it's not impossible. It happenned to me once about 10 years ago that I bought a brand new set of rims that were slightly out of center. We had to replace all 4 of them.

so, i called up tirerack and they sent me the correct hubcentric rings for my wheels. i jacked up the car, took the wheels off and lo and behold, i have rings already. BUT... the front left wheels ring was not in all the way. so i took off all four wheels and removed the rings they had in them and replaced them with the new ones....
it worked! THANK YOU so much everyone for your help =)
