Rough and clunky clutch
Rough and clunky clutch
Hi
Has anybody experienced a rough and clunky feeling clutch pedal that is most noticable in warm weather. My 2006 TSX developed this a few months ago with only 16,000 km. First time in for service they lubricated something. That fixed the problem for about 3 weeks. During the 2nd service call they compared it to other TSX's in for service and they are the same. They called Acura tech support or whatever and they said it is normal wear. Firstly I find this odd. This is such an obvious problem that they were not pro-active enough to notice this before in other cars and have an answer for me right away instead of wasting my time with a service call. Secondly, and more troubling, this feeling of the pedal is so not smooth and is also kind of noisy that this is considered normal wear.

there is a service bulletin out there about this, which calls for replacing the clutch master cylinder i believe. if you do a search, you will see that this issue comes up. i've experienced the same issue with my '05 TSX, first fix by dealer was some type of lubrication, lasted a little while, second fix was replacement of master cylinder, went away for about a year, but has started to creep up again past month or so. I too notice it much more in warmer weather. unfortunately i'm not sure if there is a permanent fix for this.
nvdave,
try this link. I have the same situation on my 2006. At my first oil change, they lubricated the clutch pedal bearing. Since then, the problem, like yours, has resurfaced. I'll be bringing a copy of the TSB, if i can find it somewhere!

I read alot of the link and it looks like there is not a TSB. If you find one somewhere pleasssse let me know. This is BS. If tech support says it is normal then why do the dealers even temporarily fix it. If its not broken then it doesn't need fixing. Clearly if they attempt to fix it it is not normal. I called 2 other dealers and they claim not to have encountered this problem. I will never buy another Acura if they claim this is normal. I thought these cars were enginereed better. I expected so much better. I am pissed.
