Rita evac problem

While returning home (Houston area) from Dallas on Sat. my wife & I pulled over to the side of the road to look for an alternate route back home to avoid traffic. After studying the map and deciding on a back- roads route my car would not start. The starter was turning but not engaging. The car finally did start after 6 attempts. Could anything have been 'hot' due to the stop-n-go driving? I am on my 3rd battery, 2 clutch switches - all starting issues. Car has 46xxx miles and is now at the dealership being diagnosed. Hopefully car will be 'fixed' properly so I don't have starting issues anymore.

14 hrs to Dallas (normally 4 hrs) & 9 hrs return. My wife drove the other car - 2004 RSX-S. Our left calf muscles are killing us. We figured after driving this past weekend we can drive anywhere.

Of course, dealer could not duplicate the problem but it is at least in my file. While it was in they fixed the sunroof & VSA button lights.

FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD!
I experienced your trouble about 3 times nearly a year ago, and everytime it is after long hot , 100 degree summer day idling in and out los angeles traffic . The car starter was engaging but the car will not start, the kind of sound that you get sometimes from a dying battery or things like that, and as always, the car always finally started, dealer cant find problem, battery seemed to be charging perfectly fine.

This happened around 10K miles ago... all these occurrances,, somehow it just mysteriously occurred, and just went away never to returned, have yet to experience this trouble again......it just went away for good, i have no idea why.....i have filed this away somewhere....

It sounds as if the engine was telling itself not to start since it was hot. I bet that's exactly what it was.

BTW-Thank you for taking both Acuras to safety! I saw that pic of a TSX after the flood with mudd all over it and would hate to have seen yours like that. Where the hell was FEMA when that TSX was in need dammit?
