Replace Trim On Door Pull

I have an '04 PWP which means black interior.

Each of the doors has (somewhere) a piece of black plastic trim - the one I'm concerned about is on the passenger front door - it snaps into the grab handle on the door.

It's actually white plastic painted black (!) and the paint began to flake off it some time ago. Unfortunately I had a brain cramp and didn't go to the dealer till after 60,000 KM - silly me.

So - I bought the piece because the white part was irritating me - it's part 83506 - SEC - A01ZB - and it's a genuine Honda part so it must be JDM

The dealer wanted to book a service appointment to do the replacement. Riiight.

My question is can anyone here advise me on how to remove the existing one without damage to the door panel? It appears as if a flat blade screwdriver inserted just so will pop the old insert out.

Thanks in advance.
