remote key help?

hey all, I just got my tsx a few weeks ago and I only had 1 remote key, so I decided to by a spare one. Well I got a really good quality OEM one and I have been trying to program it. Unfortunately I unprogrammed the original remote key. I am following all the steps of on and off 4 times while pressing lock button when on, but all I can seem to get is the unlock and trunk open keys to work. The car does not lock with either key, but it does unlock and the trunk opens as well.

Did I do something wrong, is there anyway I can reprogram the old one and the new one so the lock button works?

I'm gonna guess you have an 04 or 05, right?

Are you taking the key out of the ignition when you test the transmitter? The doors won't lock if the key is in the ignition.

If the transmitter works for unlock and the trunk than it is programmed correctly. If the doors won't lock you've got another issue. Either the key is in the ignition, the drivers door is open, etc. which is keeping the multiplex from locking the doors. Do the doors lock/unlock properly with the switch on the door panel?

The key fobs you got are the newer ones for cars equipped with memory seats. Its not a problem, all you have to do is unlink the seat memory. I think you just push and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until the light on the fob blinks. It should work then. There should be directions for linking and unlinking the seat functions on the back of the remote. Mine's rubbed off so I can't read it right now, but I think that's the proper procedure.

Also, as a few others have mentioned, make sure that all doors and the trunk are closed before trying to lock it. The car won't lock if anything's open.
