Recent rumble at stop lights/signs

Hi all, just recently I've noticed a rumble/shake while I'm in gear at a stoplight. I've recently done my 40k service about 5k miles ago and had always noticed it but not as much as recently. Its a 04 Navi TSX and am following the service guidelines to a T. Let me know if any of you have seen this, once I accelerate, or warm up the car for about 30 mins everything seems fine.

thanks in advance,

Mike

only when in gear, like at a stoplight while in drive and foot on the brake. If I pop it in N everything feels normal.

is it coming from a specific area such as the wheels?
my guess is the wheel bearing

My car has it too. It has been discussed on a few other threads after people have completed various mods which made it worse (vibration). A few people said it was the eingine causing the exhaust system to vibrate. I don't think anything is actually wrong with the car, its just annoying.

it very much sounds like a vibration caused by engine/muffler. Any suggestions to fix it?

I've noticed this very subtly, but also in many cars with an AT. Just a wee bit of vibration. Never thought it was a big deal. Must be worse on yours. Just a WAG, you might try turning the climate control system OFF when it's doing this.

Just noticed this with my 07 w/12K miles.Annoying vibration, that goes away in "N"l. I plan on letting the dealer check this out.

I was told it was my belt when I took it in.

But my vibration/noise was pretty annoying.

I think the idle RPM is too low when in gear that is causing the issue. I wonder if the dealers can raise it somehow...

Same thing here...2004 AT model with almost 60K km on the clock. Most of it goes away when in 'N', so I don't think it's the exhaust pipe or engine itself...it's something with the transmission. Did a drain and fill a while back and helped a wee bit...

So, just to make sure we are on the same page, would anyone recommend starting with transmission fluid, or belts, or maybe even just a tune-up? You guys have nailed the issue, bass-y rumble when in D at a stop, if moved to N it goes away. Drives great, I should add that my commute is only around 15-20 minutes every day, I've heard that this isn't the best way to drive your car.

Thanks!

Have the motor and transmission mounts checked.

I just purchased a 06 TSX and I have the same idle "rumble" problem. I have only had the car 5 days and I purchased from Acura dealer (CPO Warranty included) and was wondering if this was normal also. The car rumbles/vibrates slightly on 1-2 second intervals? I am completely new to Acura (previous owner of 2 Volvo S60 turbos---Which is why I chose Acura this time if you know what I mean) and I was expecting a really smooth 4cyl? My car has 22k miles on it currently.

72Pantera: I was also wondering what the dealer told you after looking at it? It looks/feels like my problem is identical.

So far I have been very pleased with my TSX, although I was expecting a little better than 26mpg on the highway....My previous two Turbo Volvo's always averaged about 30mpg. Hopefully I will see some better numbers as the car ages. I commute about 30K miles a year for work so reliability, comfort and low operating cost was one of the reasons of switching to the Acura. I'm hoping to put 200K+ miles on it with normal routine maint....

Thanks for the help!

An update, my mounts look good but my question today is.. Has anyone ever cleaned out their throttle body? I've read in other forums that they do this every year or so. I've never done this so I was wondering if anyone has.

Best,

Mike
