Rear taillight housing melted
I changed my backup light bulb and it melted the clear plastic. The bulb was the same number 7440. It was a eurolight xeon bulb. The glass is tinted blue. I plan on taking it back to the dealer with the stock bulb on to get it replaced for free but should it be replaced for free anyways since I put the proper bulb number in.

If you read the packaging that came with your bulb, it will probably say "7440 replacement" or something like that, and there is usually a standard disclaimer warning you that xenon bulbs burn a lot hotter than regular bulbs, and might cause damage, and that they won't be responsible for any problems, etc.
A "7440 replacement" is NOT the same as a real 7440. A real 7440 is:
1) A tungsten filament
2) White in color
3) 27W
Good luck with the dealer.

You have to be careful with any sort of bulb that isn't exactly to the manufacturer's spec. If it's a normal bulb that just has some coloring on it, it's probably fine. If it's some other type of bulb that is "designed to fit," or a different wattage, or anything else outside the standard spec, you have to be careful.
On backup bulbs it's usually not too much of a problem, because they're usually on only briefly, but there's always a risk.
I'll reserve my opinion on what looks weird. Having lived overseas for a long time, I think it looks weird to have turn signals that aren't amber in color, the way most of the world requires. Red turn signals look weird to me, but I guess it's just taste and what you're used to. Next trip to Europe though, I'll probably try to get a set of Euro taillight lenses, which should have either an amber lens or a clear one with space for an amber bulb.

have u guys noticed something in the color of the blinkers or signals? in the 1990s and older import vehicles are orange blinkers and red blinkers on domestic usa made vehicles such as chevy gmc ford..? now is the other way around.. honda use red signals and domestic go to orange?
i hate red it will mix u up with brake lights... usa red signals will mix you up while u follow them.
if u r braking and left signal on, you will only have rear ctr mount brake light and right brake ligh? they use the same line for brake and signal lights.. what a fool.
