Rear bumper damage and repair

Anyone have any suggestions for the best approach to fixing this damage caused by a hit and run this morning? I really do appreciate input from anyone and everyone. Thank you in advance.

A pro can probably repair w/ plastic weld or body filler, and repaint. Cost will be steep, $200-300 would be my guess.

You might check youtube for videos on bumper repair. I've seen several about repairs using heat to remove creases and dents.

I've removed most of a big area dent w/ heat applied to inside and smacking w/ rubbber hammer, but your damage is a deep impression that will probably not go away w/ heat.

good luck

a quality repair & paint job is probably more in the 500-750 range. 200-300 might get you a Maaco repair that will start to peel within a year or so. The cheapest solution is going to be to seek out a donor car with the same color. then you could probably pick up a factory painted bumper in the 100-200 range.

That's really small. A quality repair would be no more then 300-350

$500-$700 should cover the cost of painting and replacing the whole bumper (cover). I agree with the used car idea, except he may have trouble finding a bumper cover worth reusing (and it looks like white, which was not a real common color).

earlier this year we paid 400 to have a factory new bumper painted for my father in law's car. We installed it ourselves to cut down on the cost.

I was estimating 1-2 hours of labor in removing, sanding and repairing that bumper + the cost to paint and throwing out a range for regional labor rates.

MSRP for a new rear TSX bumper is 350

Nexson,

Can you please tell me how you repaired that damage? Are you experienced in body work, or is this something beginners can do successfully? THANKS EVERYBODY FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND INPUT!!

Think I may be close to a good idea. Anyone know anything about the Raven rear bumper? Details would be much appreciated. THANKS AGAIN!!

some A hole just winged my door. Now I have a nickel size dent.
So... I find myself interested in this thread. Worst part is I was at the movies and I parked allll the way in the back far from the main entrance to avoid things like this.

Let me know what you do OP.

I do have experience. I just used a heat gun to pop out the dent, then body filler to smooth out the wavyness. Then primer and paint. Mind you I have all the proper tools and do this at a buddy's shop.
