Radio static on a 06 Navi

Does any one have any problems getting radio stations to come in clear? This happens on XM and FM stations. I have a few FM stations that I know should come in clear and they have some static on them. This also happens on XM. Been driving the same route for the last 7 years and not had any reception problems until now with the TSX. My old car was a SI with the stock radio and XM was hooked up with FM modulation. The windows are not tinted yet which I'm going to wait until I get this fixed.

Thanks

XM is digital. Bad reception should only make it cut in and out, like a cell phone droping call. If you get static on XM, there might be something else wrong.

If your FM sounds bad, it is possible the FM signal booster is out. My '06 XM radio sound sucks big time. Sounded so bad, I thought I had a blown tweeter. Sound has too much distortion from bad digital compressed song files.

In general, the 360 watt stereo is disapointing. It has alot of bass, and alot high frequency response, but absolutely no midrange.

CD's sound fine. FM gets a lot of background static on stations that I know should come in clear. XM will also get back ground noise with it. Also noticed the front door panel vibrate a lot when playing music loud. If you hold your hand on the door pannel by the speaker you can get it to stop. Does this on both sides. Don't know about the back yet since I haven't had anyone sit there yet.

I've also noticed that the XM doesn't sound very good. FM sounds OK, but not great. It seems that when using radio (whether FM or XM) the bass just completely dominates all sound. The midrange is terrible. The music can sound very loud due to a lot of bass, but the vocals sound soft and muffled. I've tried adjusting the bass to compensate, but then it seems as if I lose both the bass response and the midrange.

I don't notice these problems when listening to CDs. CDs sound great (at least to a non-audiophile like me). I'm just a little dissapointed in FM/XM.
