Radio and clock display out

I was driving into work this morning when all of a sudden the radio and clock diplay went out. None of the buttons on the radio or the radio controls on the steering wheel work. The radio is stuck on one station and all I can control is the volume.

Has anyone run into this problem? I already have a service appointment next week for the tail light recall and for them try and find a permanant fix for the creaking in the windshield.

If anyone has a solution, please let me know, it sucks just listening to one radio station.

Definitely sounds like something for a service visit.

When I called the service guy to add it to the list of things to do, he said that he never ran into this problem.

I did a search https://acurazine.com/forums/search.php?searchid=171539, but their problems all seem to have been all the light on the center were out.

I would check the fuses first, but there is a TSB out for faulty headunits in a certain range of vins. I had my headunit not dim anymore when I turned the lights on. The dealer replaced the whole headunit. Hope this helps.

Sounds like your radio may have a short, it may have to be replaced.

Be sure to let us know how it goes and good luck.

A lot of people have been affected by this, it is NOT an isolated problem, your dealership is probaby lying about never "seeing" those problems.

I had the lights go out on my head unit...everything still worked fine, but I could not tell what I was doing when I was changing stations, or setting the temperature, etc. The dealer said I was the 3rd TSX he has had that week with the same problem. They ordered me a new headunit and replaced it and all is well now.

o3jeff...didn't realize it was you when I first posted a reply...if you have anymore questions just IM me. Be sure to take it to Schaller....they have dealt with this issue before and replaced my headunit w/o hesitation.

I was looking in the service manual for something else and this issue was actually mentioned - I didn't read it but at least it's addressed specifically. I believe it's compononet failure.

They are giving me a loaner car on Tuesday for this problem and some other things, I am not going to pick up my car until it is all complete. So if they have to order a radio, they will be short the loaner.

I had the same problem, it is the radio power supply that need replacing. I think there is a TSB out on this too.

Take it to the dealership.. let them know the situation.. they probably are aware that some tsx's are having this problem.. i had the same problem and just got my radio installed and its now perfect... only bad thing is that it took way to long for them to get the part, about 4 weeks... but im sure your dealership shouldnt have a problem.. mines lost my main contact number..

The dealer has to pull the radio unit to get a serial number in order to get a replacement radio. I know because I'm experiencing it first hand as we speak.

Isn't the serial number on your radio code card?
