Unhappy Problem with throttle response Help please!

I just went with my family to a small trip and everything was fine. My tank was about a 1/4 full. Before I come back, i stop at a gas station (ultramar) and i put about 20 liters (5 gal) of premium fuel. Then right after I leave the gas station and get to the Highway, the throttle response seem a bit odd. Their was hesitation with the engine and then my check engine light start to go on. It blink 12 times then disapear. On my way home it happen about 5 times. The ride is about 75 km (45 miles). No matter if I am in 3rd, 4th or 5th gear their is random hesitation in the throttle. When I am at a cruising speed I can feel the engine slowing down and pick up again before the CEL start to blink. After I get home I went straight to my usual gas station and I fill up my tank with premium fuel about 30 liters (8 gal). Then it start to get worse. the first 3 stop sign the engine almost choke. Then in regular acceleration it really had hard time to pick up. Almost like I had a clog fuel filter. The CEL then blink 21 times.

I drop my family home then I decided to go for a short spirited drive to see.
It happen once and the CEL light stay on. 10 minutes after I was back home. I open the hood and I pull out the oil dip stick. The dip stick itself was covered with oil top to bottom. I wipe it and I insert it again and the oil was covering up to the middle of it. I open the oil cap and it smell a lot like gas.

When I turn on the key to accessory and leave it on the CEL light does not blink. It stay on. The engine turn on normally without hesitation.

What do you think it can be?

The car is a 05 TSX AT with 86,000km (53,000 miles) on it. Maintenance alway done at the dealer. I hope it is just bad fuel but I clearly don't know

thanks

If everything was fine before the gas station, and the engine hesitation and CEL occurred right after the gas station, it is most likely the gas you got.

Maybe there was water in the gas. You should drain part of the tank into a clear container and see if there is water on the bottom. If so, I would drain the entire tank and put good gas in before it fouls the fuel filter, destroys the injectors, etc. Even if you fill up the tank with more good gas, the water will still be in there.

I think going on that spirited drive when you suspect issues could possibly make your problems bigger. You should look into the problem instead of making your car continue to sip potentially bad gas.

Is there a drain plug on the gas tank or do i need to go to the dealer?
Also when I reach the oil dip stick, it smell gas. I will go for an oil change in the next few days.
Thanks
