Hello, I recently changed my battery and noticed that the circular plastic cover (about the size of a softball) located in front of the battery towards the back of the headlight was missing all 3 push-in clips. The only thing keeping it somewhat in place was the battery bracket. Can anyone help identify what this is and what it does? Can I remove it? Do you know where to find replacement push-in clips (not sure on technical term)? Any help is greatly appreciated! I have attached a picture for reference.

The bottom picture (modded car) is not mine. The cover I'm referring to is at the front right of the picture directly behind the headlight

I don't have the car available, but from what I can remember, I'm pretty sure that the piece you're referring to is a cover that protects the back side of the HID low beam headlight. I think the clips come with the cover, but you could try an Acura or Honda dealer, and they should be able to provide what you need. I'll assume it's there for a reason, so I wouldn't suggest running without it. For one thing, that would expose that area to any under hood debris (and high temps).

if that were true, there would be one on the other side as well.

since he didnt circle anything in the pic, we can only assume what he's talking about.
I believe he's talking about the air intake divert-er.
its directly in front of the battery, above the head light.

this diverts air into the intake tube.
however, if you removed the stock air intake, there is no reason to keep the "divert-er"

Its likely to divert air for battery cooling. Earlier Accords had similar ducts on battery side.

I could not find any mention in shop manual.

good luck

in front of the battery, there is tubing.
that cover in question, directs air into the tubing.

Thank you everyone for the quick responses. This is definitely the piece I'm referring to. Do you think that an Acura or Honda dealer would have those clips in stock?

i tried looking for the "cover" itself at Acuraoemparts.com
however, since we dont know the real name for it, I couldnt locate the part #.

if they are the normal "Honda Bitch clips" you can grab a WHOLE bag from amazon.com

the dealer will charge you like $10 for one clip.

There is one on the other side, and the headlight parts diagram specifies 2.

Found it:

part #17 in diagram - part #:91505-SL0-003 Desc: CLIP, COWL TOP

about $3 a pop. My local dealer's part manager looked for a solid 20 minutes on his computer for it - had to look at my car too. A hard part to find... and it wasn't in stock either -- they had to order it.
