What a freaking nightmare this has become. Sock it to them man. If the stealership still gives you sheet, I've got the number for Acura Client Services.

Thanks PAC, I'll keep that in mind.

Definately, what a hassle. It's a good thing I jacked up the car to make sure - I had a feeling they wouldn't swap it out with the part I bought. I mean, why would they? They probably figure you're an idoit to begin with for bringing it to the dealer and think they can get away with not having to do the service.

And heck, they may be able to keep that new good part to use for some other sucker.

The dealer charged me an extra half hour worth of labor ($78.75) to supposedly swap out the incorrect OEM part I purchased from the front (pre cat) and move it to the back (cat) to replace the older secondary sensor.

I jacked up the vehicle as soon as I got it home to make sure my secondary sensor was installed. Nope, it’s an old rusted sensor that’s still in there.

This would be fraud. You could bring them to small claims court, but sometimes this is a big hassle. Need to weigh the benefits, and document evidence to support a case. Going to the service manager to explain this may bring compensation, especially if you mention a lawyer.

I'm assuming the proper air/fuel ratio sensor is in? How's the car running? Any CEL's?

I did look up the number for Acura Client Services and filed a complaint, thanks.

The car runs fine now, no check engine light or anything.. it just needed the correct part number for the primary o2 sensor replacement.

The Service Supervisor says he is writing a check to refund the labor and giving me a coupon for a free oil change and apologized that the invoice was not corrected to reflect not having done the labor afterall.

He also says that he has the part I purchased is on his desk to return to me when I come back in.

It's always a good idea to ask for the old parts back in these situations.

Good to hear you got some compensation for the frustration. Time to enjoy the ride!
