Hey.. I've had my TSX for about 3 weeks and it has about 1K miles on it.. When I turn it on after a long period of time and start driving a short distance, it makes a lound "bang"that lasts for a second and goes away. The engine seems fine but I'm a little concerned about the bang. Has any one had this problem or could it just be a result of the cooler weather? Thanks in advance..

 

Bang sound? I know sometimes the ABS makes a sound, but not a "bang". If it is a "bang" sound, I'd take it to the dealer. It will be hard for the dealer to determine without replicating the sound though, since it only happens after it has been sitting for a long period of time. I would try to record it, especially if it is consistently making that sound. Have a passenger in the car with a video camera and have them record it.

 

definately sounds like the ABS sound, however its more like a scraping than a bang.

 

Try a forum search on "clunk" and see if those many posts describe the sound you hear.

They did for my TSX ... part of the ABS system starting up.

 

yeah, it is probly the ABS system doing a test fire.
