No more clanking brakes.
No more clanking brakes.
Every time i drove over any rough roads. my brake would chatter/clank. well at least i thought it was the brakes that was doing it, and it was.
so after driving with it for about 15k miles. I decided to do something about it.
Dealers refused to check it cause of my suspensions and Other times they've checked, they said nothing was wrong.
SO...here is what i did.
1. Lube caliper pins,
2. change to stock pads, from hawk pads (doubt the pads are the cause, but possible)
3. re-torque caliper pins to correct specs
4. bleed the brakes.
and no more clanking.
I dont know which actually was the problem, but I did all those and fixed it.
I drove around town for 30mins afterwards, no problem yet.
I know people were having some clanking issues. Dont know if it the same or similar. but I fixed mine.
PS. F the dealers.

do u mean that the break shakes when u go over rough roads? i noticed this too and i only have 500 miles on my car. This doesn't happen when i go slow over the roads and not clank on the break and according to the manual it's just the way the ABS works
yeah, i think it was the brake shaking and clanking.
BUT... if i lightly apply the brake, no more clanking. im thinking its cause the pads hold on to the rotors and stop the shaking.
I'll try putting back the hawk pads when i rotate my wheels and let you guys, who ever are interested, know.
