New tires help problem
New tires help problem
i just installed new tires new the kumho ecsta asx 225/45/17 on the stock rims and mounted and balanced them. ever since i put them on my car has been pulling to the right. so i went back and had them rebalanced and check all the tire pressure but still cant solve the problem. the guy at the shop told me that i might need a alignment?? but before with my stock tires i had no problem with my alignment and i have never heard before that i need to get wheel alignments just for changing to new tires. does he kno what hes talking about? any fix
I had 225-45-17 before with 245-40-17 in the rear. They are very sensitive to crowns in the road.
Other then that, when I had tne C36, quite a few people where having problems wit thier new kuhmo's in terms of balancing. Turns out most of them that had the new kuhmos had a tire that had a bubble in the sidewall.

Conicity
This is called conicity, conical shape of the tires. Typically from
small off centeredness in the steel belts.
Try switching front tires left to right, if it's the tires, pulling should
go to the other direction.
OE tires are graded to severe uniformity limits such that the manufacturing
process will control them very closely to maintain yields.
Replacement tires will have much higher limits and less process control
and this is more likely to occur after removing the OE equipment.

It's not normal if the defective tire is causing the problem. Try switching the tires to determine if in fact a tire problem. If it is, then just take it back to where you got it from for an exchange. Also see if they have the proper equipment to peform a road force measurement and balance.
