Need input, mechanic says I need a new computer!
I have a 2004 TSX auto, pre owned certified.
Last night I was driving and the car twice lost electrical power while I was driving.
Then it died on me at a red light. Was able to start the car again but my check engine light stayed on.
This morning I took it to a private mechanic, as I was driving there the check engine light turned off. So after talking to the mechanic I decided not to have the car checked but as I was leaving the "check" oil light started flashing.
So I had him run a diagnostic check on the car. He then informed me the computer in my car is bad and needed to be replaced.
A new cpu will be $800 or a used (he didn't recommend) $400.
What do you guys think? I'm so bummed
I'm taking my car to an Acura dealership Monday. I'm wondering if my car is still under the pre owned Acura certified warranty.

I have a TSX also and if it were my car I would have nobody work on it but the Acura dealer.
Who knows maybe there's a bulletin on it TSB or maybe the dealer can work something out with you. In any event it's not going to be cheap and these cars are so complex I wouldn't think of having anyone else do it but a good Acura dealer. Just my opinion.

Check the PDF link in this thread. Sounds like a similar issue, and a cheaper fix:
