Need Help removing Gasoline Smell

Here in Oregon, we can't pump our own gas. To make a long story short, the attentant filled up a gas can for my mower and placed it back in my TSX's trunk.

Unfortunately, he didn't tighten the cap properly, and when I got home some of the gas had spilled on my trunk tray.

Anyway, I took the trunk tray out (this happened on Sunday) cleaned it and it still reeks. I've tried white vinegar and baking soda so far.

Just curious if anyone has any suggestions getting the smell out of this plastic tray.

Thanks

Awesome (cleaner in dollar store) and scrub brush may work.

pull out your spare tire, if enough gas leaked, it could go through the trunk lining and settle in the bottom of your spare tire well

you can pull out the entire middle lining by removing 2 clips near the rear seats. take it out to air out. vinegar and febreeze should help w/ the smell, really it just takes time

Best of luck with the smell, but please take the discussion to off-topic. Wash & Wax people might be able to help you more.

This may sound stupid but...

try tomato juice. This may even sound dumber but a massingale douche. When my dog got sprayed by a skunk on two separate occasions we used each and they both worked. I know both nuts. Just hope you done get a price check for the second item while you are in line, like I had to endure!
