Navi will not boot up - (synch or whatever)
I purchased a used '06 Acura TSX (that was wrecked). I had it rebuilt. Luckily - I found copies of the Audio Code and Navi codes. The system has allowed me to enter the codes to access the system, but it instructs me to wait up to 10 min to retrieve a signal from the satellites (or whatnot). However, it never locates the satellites. Also... it will not allow me to eject the navi disc. (i'm using version 4.31 white disc by the way - I kinda guessed at which one to purchase).
any suggestions (other than take it to the stealership - it's over 2 hours away)?
I would sincerely appreciate any help.

also I would like to note that none of my buttons are lighting up (backlit). The only buttons seem to be backlit in my car at the moment are the power window and doorlock buttons. I'm suspecting this is an easy fix. Or, at least I hope so.

Press and hold MENU - MAP - CANCEL to enter the diagnostic screen and follow the menu and do a system test. There are various tests. This should pinpoint the problem.

i'll go try this. The car was rear ended. I purchased a rear clip to repair the car. I will go try to see if everything is connected securely and run the diagnostic test and report back. I appreciate the help!

should there be a cable hooked in to the location noted in the pic?
are either one of these black boxes the antenna? I really don't know what I'm looking for here.
There is a slight chance the guy who did my body work forgot to remove the antenna from the original rear end. The Clip came from a '06 non-navi.
Appreciate the help!

What exactly do you mean by 'clip'? The navi antenna is located on the rear shelf, right behind the rear headrests, under the plastic/fabric shelf.
I will see if I can find a pic or diagram to help you.

when a car is hit in the rear, sometimes you can purchase what's called a "rear clip". This is nothing more than the rear end of another car (that's been in a front end wreck or whatever). The rear clip consists of the rear body of the car. Sometimes the wrecking yard will sell you the roof all the way back to the rear. And, you have your bodyman "clip the car" by cutting off the old wrecked part and attaching the new undamaged rear. They will usually clip half way up the rear passenger doors. I might take some photos to show you what I mean and how my work was done.

I have an 05, and the back of the DVD unit looks slightly different from the 06. However, the plug you have circled is in the same place as mine and it does have a connector plugged into it.
In that picture, what is that connector for that looks like it is taped to that bundle of wires with blue electrical tape?

Yes, there is a connector that is taped to the wire bundle, but it does not fit that plug. it's roughly the same size but this connector doesn't fit it. I'm thinking that they just forgot to remove the antenna from the existing clip. Assuming that is the plugin for it. I was hoping someone could tell me if it were or not.

I can't tell from the pic, but i'm almost 100% sure it is for the antenna. Should be a 2 pin connector (correct me if i am wrong). From the looks of it, I cannot see where your antenna wire even is. Maybe you are missing the antenna!

it might be a one wire connection. The antenna sits on teh rear deck of the car where the speakers are. It's made by pioneer i believe and it should have pioneer sticker on the back. Look to see if that is there. I'm pretty sure you are missing that. It's about 100USD for the part if you are missing it.

oh ya, the antenna is a square plastic block mounted to rectangular looking silver metal plate with one black wire comming out of it. The silver plate has two holes for the mounting screws.

It looks to me like the repair may have been done with a clip from a non-navi or the antenna was parted out. It should have been included since your car has the nav. I guess there is a small chance the antenna is there, just the wire wasn't fished down and connected. I'd ask the guy who did the repair if you can't find the wire.
