My Radio/Navigation is locked!!!!

I started my car the other day and my navigation came up with a screen that prompted me to enter a pass code. The screen is locked like a cell phone, so I can not access anything.

I have no idea how this happened. I never entered a code or enabled this feature.

1.) Any idea how this happened?
2.) How can I diasable this without having the code so I can access my nav?

Thanks!!!!

my nav on my 06 tsx asked for my code twice. i entered it and it then worked. do not know why but my radio was working both times. the code can be found on cards given to you with the owners manual and other info.

1. It's a "feature" lol (my car has asked me for the code 3 times already). There was a thread about this...apparently many people experience the same thing (asking for the code out of the blue)

2. You can't...that's what the code is for. If a thief could bypass the code to access the navi, then that security is worthless

As mentioned previously, look around your glove box (while you're in the driver's seat), and you should "see" it. If not, and you don't have the owner's code cards, you'll have to go to the dealer.

4 digit code for Nav
5 digit code for radio

Also look in the owners manual for a card with the codes on them.

I tried too many times and it won't even let me into the point where it lets me enter a code.
Am I locked out permanently?

I can second this situation. I'm about to call the dealer and will keep you posted.

Try disconnecting the battery ground for 10+ min, it should 'reset' the system

it only lets you try so many times-then you have to wait-and try it again. It is like most other things that ask for a pin #. Usually 3 tries and you are locked out.

Listen to this guy. My dealer gave me a white card with my manuals that had all the codes. Audio and Navi work separately. Every time you disconnect your battery or whatever, it will ask you for both codes. They will ask when you attempt to use either one.

Alright, this morning when I started the car, the prompt came up to enter the 4 digit code...ya know, the code on the blue sticker given by the dealer. Everything worked fine after that.

I guess the lockout lasts for a period of time then comes back.

I hope this helps.

Yeah, I called the dealer and they gave me the code a few weeks ago, sorry for not updating.

The weirdest part is that I didn't lose battery power when this happened.
In fact, it was only probably an hour or so between drives when this happened. I was at the mall, in and out in about and hour and then when I got out, the nav was asking for this code.
