My car won't start!

I was gone for about 1 week and tried to start my tsx today. It will not start!! I am pretty sure I didn't leave any lights or anything on that could drain the battery. When I checked the battery, it was completely drained. I even tried to jump start the car, but that didn't even work. So I called Acura roadside service to bring it to the dealer to get it checked out and fixed. I got a loaner car, but the service guy tried to give me an RSX. Not too pleased about that so I said don't you have a TSX? Now I got a TSX loaner .

I can't believe a car that's only 5 months old with 4.5K miles on it won't start after being left alone for 1 week. Even the key fob won't work on it. WTF? Arrrrgghhh!

Sounds like you left a light on.
Hope it's not something serious.

I almost always leave reading lights on everytime I use it.

not if you manually turned it on. i've left my reading light on overnight by accident but never had a problem. a week would do it though.

you really shouldn't be blaming the car, 99% chance that you did something to drain the battery. lets hope your battery isn't faulty.

well.. hope your car is fixed. i always try to get away to buy first year of a new bodystyle. usually teh bugs will come during first year production and higher prices... but i got the tsx because i know rates are going up so it will off set my little higher price.
for example.. get the car at dealer invoice plus tax and lic and own or dealer financing at 4.9% is the same pymt as if i paid 1000 over invoice and at 3.9%.. and get to use car for full 2004. instead of sept 2004 .. strart earlier pymts .. end sooner..

Keep us updated, but it doesn't seem like that big of a problem.

I left mine for close to 3 weeks when it was almost new, and no problems when I got back. It took maybe an extra second of cranking to get it going the first time, but that's it.

I suspect something was accidentally left on, or something was constantly triggering the alarm. When jump-starting a fully dead battery, sometimes you have to let the charge trickle for a while before actually starting the car.

I'll find out tomorrow if it was something stupid I did or the battery went out on me. Bu I swear I didn't leave my reading lights or anything else on that might drain my battery. It sat in my garage from Tuesday to Tuesday the following week. In the meantime, I'm gonna have some fun in the loaner. Vrooom vrooom ... hehehe

Dealer called and said that the battery was completely dead. He replaced it with a new one .
He didn't mention whether or not I left any lights on in the car. I pick it up tonight. Yeeeeaaahh!!

Have him check to make sure that the terminals are properly connected. I borrowed a friend's car once and her battery terminals weren't screwed together tightly which resulted in the battery dying several times over the course of the weekend.

I didn't even know dealers replace dead batteries for free.

Okay it seems that there was an electrical problem with my tsx and they just replaced the battery b/c it wasn't taking a charge. The service guy didn't go into more detail about what the electrical problem was and I didn't push the issue since I wanted my TSX back. They also fixed the rear tail light recall and did an oil change. I hope the electrical problem was just a malfunctioned battery and not an on going problem. But I'll see in the coming months if there is something going on with the "electrical" system.

I was on vacation in Hawaii for a week.

When my sister bought her new car (not TSX) she also had an incident where the car wouldn't start. It was just a faulty battery I think.

Dad passed away shortly after I got the car. Was at the other end of the country for 3 weeks. Sometimes stuff like that happens.

Truth is, the car is at home with the cover on whenever I go on vacation.
